Hi all,
Would like to get some guides or solution from you guys.

I signed up Singtel Fibre, which is 1Gbps and it came with the AZTECH 2400 router. The router is placed at my living room, and i tested the speed on AZTECH router using wired connection is about 900Mbps.
ONT > AZTECH > Laptop

So I tried to set up my ASUS RT AC55UHP at my living room to replace the AZTECH router, but the speed with the ASUS router became about 300Mbps.
ONT > ASUS > Laptop

I find it weird that one wired connection, ASUS router only can hit 300Mbps, so I configured it to AP mode to see the speed and it can go up to 900 Mbps.
ONT > AZTECH > ASUS > Laptop.

I had a TP-Link in my room which is connected to the AZTECH router, speed test at 600Mbps.
ONT > AZTECH > TP-Link > Laptop

So because I tried all means on my ASUS router, and cant get up to the given speed, and decide to replace my TP-Link to ASUS router. After replacing the router, I do a speed test. It can go up to 900Mbps, then I do the speed test again, it drops to 90Mbps. Then I changed back to TP-Link, first test at 900Mbps, second test 90Mbps.

Singtel had just changed my ONT and updated the firmware of the AZTECH router few days ago.

Any one can help me?
Actually I just want my ASUS RT AC55UHP to replace the AZTECH router with the max speed I signed up for (800Mbps to 1Gbps)

Sorry for the long story,
Hope some one over here can help with me. Thanks.

Check if your cable is working fine. If not, use another laptop or pc to try.

Setup seems Normal.. Asus router problem?

I dont think so, cause using AP mode at my living room, ONT > AZTECH > ASUS > Laptop. The speed can hit 900mbps, but dont know why if set up as normal router, it cannot hit 900mbps ( ONT > ASUS > Laptop)

Try resetting your ASUS router~ I was getting 200+mbps download and 600+mbps when I first switched to fiber, but after resetting my ASUS router, I am consistently getting 800+ to 900+ for both upload and download~ I am not using Singtel though~

Yeap. I've tried that. Initially I configured the asus router before the change of ONT, the speed was 100mbps. I thought was something blocked at the ONT side. After they change the ONT still the same but at 300mbps. Restart ONT, ASUS router multiple times but still getting 300mbps.
Double checked that I am not on Wi-Fi when I performing speed test.

Could it be compatibility issue. I see now for TPLink, there is a sticker pasted on the box for various models that it is certify Singtel Fibre ready.

Reset your router, as in factory reset your router and then set it up again~ Not restart your router~

No there isn't any compatibility issue of that sort. Its either working or not working when a router is connected to the network, no such thing as work half way. :D

Moreover, new tplink products with the new classic dark green packaging will all come with a new sticker that doesn't mention about singtel fibre anymore, instead it will have a sticker that mentions compatible to all fibre services in singapore if i rmb correctly.

saw these new batches at challenger..

Copy & Paste from their website:

Typical download speed range for 300Mbps Fibre Plan: 280.22Mbps – 335.01Mbps (local) and 202.13Mbps – 347.03Mbps (international); 500Mbps Fibre Plan: 430.33Mbps – 566.87Mbps (local) and 351.21Mbps – 465.63Mbps (international); 1Gbps Fibre Plan: 800.01Mbps – 908.00Mbps (local) and 750.34Mbps – 883.87Mbps (international); 10Gbps Fibre Plan: Download speeds ranging between 500Mbps - 8Gbps* and upload speeds up to 2Gbps* over wired connections. Results above were validated in January - March 2017. For more information, visit www.singtel.com/hbbspeed

Conclusion: Do not make too many attempt to swap routers that are connected to ONT.
Your IP has messed up due to routers holding each its own IP.
Do the speedtest which will indicated the IP on the result.

Fixed you ideal setup and then contact Singtel hotline directly to tech dept support line.
The tech support staff may have to Refresh your IP in order to get back to your 1Gbps plan.
Alternately you may try to do this yourself first before calling them:
1. Power off the ONT and for routers do reset.
2. Wait for a few minutes then power on the ONT only.
3. Wait for the PON indicator to show green stable which may take 1 min.
4. Then power on the main router connect directly to ONT.
5. Upon router finally power on, then power on the other router in the network and any other connection such as computer, hub, etc.
For best result is to contact them directly, as they can check on their end on your connection.
Do note that if the line is busy, wait and call later as this may take several minutes to resolve one customer issue, such as this.

Try not to do any other settings yet, just router reset will do.
Check the result before attempt to make other settings.
I had encountered this due to swap routers and end in connection issue.
My 1Gbps speedtest is download around 600Mbps and upload up to 800+Mbps.
As for 1Gbps plan the speed above 600+Mbps is acceptable.

Hi there. I have factory reset too, still the same problem though

last resort, reset ONT by pushing the button.

Resetting ONT is not something should be done lightly. There is a risk of asynchronous link with the OLT side. You should only attempt this when you think you can take the aftermath of an internet downtime. I believe the profile can still be pushed to you remotely if you call 1688 though.

Slow speed can also be due to the router you used as well. I also suggest you to hook up the singtel router to ONT first to try if the internet connection is all right.

Otherwise, there isn't any incompatibility issue in singtel network using 3rd party routers...

I dont really know whether is it singtel problem or what.
Right now I already not intending to use my ASUS router as the main router.
Thus, meaning I am using the Singtel Router connecting to the ONT.
My TP-Link connecting to this Singtel Router, every now and then will dropped to 90mbps. Weird

Contact Hotline and directly to Broadband tech support line, not CS.
Request them to Refresh IP for you.
Follow their procedure which may take several minutes.
If the line is busy, contact later as it might be busy with another customer.

Sometimes the issue lies in the IP address assigned to you.
If the IP is stable, then leave it 24/7 as it is not static and do not belong to you.
Once you power off the ONT, and the next time you power on the ONT the IP may have change.

The yellow fibre cable is a sensitive cable and do not bend and tie it as it is not like normal cables.
Inside this yellow fibre cable the signal is using light hence it can travel fast.
Maybe it is best to get a standby fibre yellow cable from IT shops in Sim Lim Sq.
Do visit the shop staff with knowledge on Singtel type of fibre cable, or get it from Singtel itself, cost $6.00

This is for the start.
Do not do anything to the ONT cause it is preset by the ISP itself.:D:s12:

Well, before we can advise further, would u comment if you are using cable or wireless when you achieve the 90mbps?

Also, which tplink device is it?
