Meanwhile, journalist Ian McGarry claims Jurgen Klopp has threatened to quit Liverpool if Coutinho is allowed to depart.
"When Barcelona made the original bid for Coutinho, Jurgen Klopp spoke with senior figures at Liverpool," he told the Transfer Window podcast.
"I’m not saying they were directly involved with FSG in America but they had the ear of FSG and John W Henry.
"He said ‘if you sell Coutinho, I will seriously consider my position at this club. Because if you sell that player from under my nose without giving me any reason or the opportunity to buy a player who can replace him, then you’re undermining my opportunity and ambition to make this club a serious contender for the Premier League and the Champions League.
"‘Think about that before you sell Coutinho.'

This 1 confirm "leaked" by FSG, which is a smart/sneaky move.
Showing everybody that even though Cou's offer is huge, the club won't get all the $. Also will put a stop to all those morons that'll say "We get 130m from Cou's deal + to what we haven't spend and we can buy ...".
Barca tried to use player power to take an asset from LFC by low balling offer...Could they afford to get both dembele and coutinho? I doubt so...Might in the end wasted everyone time by unsettling player... Great PR spin to their fans "at least we try"...

Even without coutinho going, we need another midfielder who can create... coutinho may be unhappy if not allowed to leave
