i wldnt recommend lg. not because i've used them before but i did have a look at its structure and stuff. mitsubishi is still better designed.

also, i don't recommend two compressor if one compressor enough. just get the 48va from mitsubishi

Thanks! But the wife wants LG cause of the design. We're going for the mirror series and the grey colour fits our house theme perfectly. Read about bad reviews on LG, but my price include a 5 year warranty by gain city, so i guess its fine.

Probably leaning towards system 3 now. Spoke to some other ppl who also just got their hse, mentioned that the price to pay to get additional aircon unit probably will be more than the price we save by switching on the 18k vs 24k in the living room. Haha

My is FCU - AMNC09GDBA2 - 9k BTU x 3 no & AMNC12GDBA2 - 12k BTU x 1 no (All Made in Korea) for my 4 bedrooms.

I have no idea whether the 30k is going to be discontinued or not. I got it because I only can have 1 ACU and all my 4 rooms must turn on the aircon.

Cool. So yours is the 30k compressor? The sales person didn't discourage against buying? The gain city sales lady was honest w us and discourage the 30k btu compressor. Not sure why also.

Yes, ACU is 30. Overclocked to 40 if overload as I always turn on 4 FCU at the same time. Temperature is set at 22°c.

So far so good. Used for 1 year. Heavy usage. Àverage 8 hour per day. Maintenance every 3 months.

I guess one of the reason for discourage is LG has very low profit margin. My system 4 with high capacity ACU cost me $3800 after minus off the free $350 voucher together with new pipings upgrade materials etc.

Do you install any aircon now at your location ? This switch is to be used for aircon and has to be switched on to let aircon operate. Think of it as light switch. Do you think the light will turn on if you have not switch it on (off position) ?

Like that, then if you want to know further, ask for help of a licensed electrician. I am sourcing for electricians to rewire my home. Some of their websites are daylightelectrician.com, electricpoint.com.sg. can also google rewiring singapore and find out more companies.

Call them for charges and then decide. I have not yet called them. Still evaluating how to set up the rewiring and the locations of sockets.

Not using isolator is alright.

It seems like your aircon service provider didn't connect your current aircon to the HDB's default isolator switch.

Reason might due to the distance to run (pull) cabling from the isolator switch to the outdoor condenser unit is further from the main power switch box, that's why they prefer to run (pull) from the shorter path.

This happened to my home too. You can test to find out from your main switch by switching off individual 20A or 32A MCB switch. ;)

Hi bro, thank you

1) so it ok to switch if "OFF"(SEEM IT NOW SERVE NO PURPOSE)

This test for what Purpose?

3) which better connect to isolator or 15 amp switch only( as might as my installer to rewired if it make a difference in long run)

Normally for shortage of refrigerant/gas leak or EEV failure, is it better to ask the gain city technician or daikin technician to fix it?

I am a previous user of Daikin aircon. I used to have the exact same problem as you. Out of gas, usually one time top up is below $60.
And I suggest u monitor how long it will last until....
My aircon gas leak was quite bad. Gas top up last from 6 mths > 3mths> 1 mth then i knew I have to change new aircon.

1. Yes, if switching off and you can still power on your aircon.

2. The purpose is to find out (in case you want to know) which MCB switch was used for connecting to your aircon.

3. Not a must to have isolator, just a "standard" for normal installation mostly adopted. Most importantly is, the power cable should be done by professional electrical technician. Not much difference with or without isolator.

Hello everyone,

I was quoted by gain city for LG system 4 (4 ticks) with 3 pc of AMNC09GDBA2 and 1 pc of AMNC24GDCA2 at the price of $4009 inclusive of installation, drainage pipe and dismantle old aircon. Can advise me is LG aircon good and is the price reasonable?

Thanks in advance!

Many people will say not advisable to use LG.

But I installed LG - FCU - AMNC09GDBA2 - 9k BTU x 3 no & AMNC12GDBA2 - 12k BTU x 1 no (All Made in Korea)*& ACU - A4UQ30GFA0 (max 40 btu).

All 4 FCU on every night @ 8 hr average @ 22°c. Used 1 year and so far so good. Maintain every 3 months. Low monthly electricity consumption about $75 to $100 more.

The main reason why I used LG is because it is not costly. I paid about $3800 with 12 months free interest instalment.

If your ACU is high capacity 30 and not 24, then I think $4009 is very good price.

But my other premises (my office), I just recently installed Daikin smile systems 3 & 2. Office meh. Wan sak place. Cannot play play. Must get a reliable aircon.

Our ACU (A4UQ26GFA1) capacity is 29 so it is a good buy? Or would you recommend other brands?

I don't think the ACU will be power enough for your 4 FCU (you have 1 24btu) if you turn on 4 FCU at the same time.

Why not get two ACU (System 3 for 9btu FCU & 1 for 24 FCU)?

Or get Daikin smile ACU MKS80 (max 36btu) System 4 for reliability and peace of mine. But 24 FCU turn on no power.

I use this as System 3 & 2 for my office.

How come your capacity is 29? I ordered the same compressor too. The sales person told me its 24 so once i turn on my living room air con (24k) i cannot on my room already. Either one of us is wrong haha

Update: sms my sales person, she say its 24k for this compressor
