Yes at the bank counter, your money in account will be earmarked.the staff will give u a form to sign. I signed for this uob before but interest is low so I switched to esaver.

the rates are comparable. just "gian" on the vouchers. Interest earned usually will not spend. voucher take already must spend :s13:

For iSAVvy, if I withdraw my money now and deposit them back later, does it mean I won't get Bonus interest as Bonus interest/dividend is awarded on the incremental average daily balance in the Account during the Promotion Period (1 September to 31 December 2017) against the average daily balance in August 2017.

maybank fd .offering 1.4% for a year

the other downside of uob last time is that because of the earmark 2 months, if you sign up late, your balance will only get board rate for the balance of the tail end of the earmarked period

Consumers should boycott those shady tactics for F.D. funds. So that the banks would stop their nonsense which is rather misleading for the not so informed, lowly educated persons & senior citizens.

Just sell the usual vanilla products lah, why must come up with all these patterns?

MAS, ABS also don't bother to take matters into their own hands, allowing confusion & miscommunication to affect the general public.
If you can't raise enough funds, then jolly well offer more attractive options lah. That is up the interest rates offered, instead of using gimmicks to lure ignorant depositors.
Really disappointed with their poor business ethics.

See below mentions :
must deposit funds into saving account
Must tie up with another bank product etc. meaning unnecessary terms & conditions must be fulfilled
the other downside of uob last time is that because of the earmark 2 months, if you sign up late, your balance will only get board rate for the balance of the tail end of the earmarked period
Terms & conditions which benefited the issuing bank when the bank customer inadvertently overlooked a condition.

I recalled forum user, Sausage kena from POSB Bank promo, lost the promo benefits because of a technical error in funds transfer. Such things, as well as the hassles involved.

100k will be earmarked.

For earmarking to be reflected in the system will take a few days, which is not very relevant. More important is when does earmark end.

For that, just take earmark start date as the day u sign up and will stretch for full 2 months. If u join late, u will be "penalised" with just board level interest at the tail end.

Just got a message from my GE agent.

just released New 3 Year Endowment... SDIC protected 100k... guaranteed capital... death protection during this 3 year period 101%... guaranteed yield 2.05% P.A. (if you choose annual yield payout)... 2.07% P.A. (if accumulate)...

not selling anything... just passing on info I receive... Very Good ? Very Bad? Not Bad?... any skeptical views? ... any violent objections? ... any better alternatives? :)

PS: must be existing GE policyholder..

yeah.. my funds were in on 8 sept friday. went to bank to sign a document on 9 sept saturday. was informed that the document will get process today or tomorrow 11/9 or 12/9. and they will call me to inform me when will the earmark end.. so effectively i will lose out on 12 days of interest. making this a 1.26% effective interest rate?
