Year 1 modules u don't really need textbook. POA and Econ just need to do more of past years paper questions and better do them early. BMGC can pass if follow lecture note closely but if u want to score, there are some materials available on the VLE.

Thanks for the reply. will go through some classes before deciding if i need textbooks.

Does anyone knows what is needed for the first day? I have yet to receive any study guides or materials, will the basic writing materials to take down notes suffice?

nic is good. lessons wont be boring
the other 3 im taking this sem as well

lecturers rarely use the study guide for lessons afaik

if the lecturer did not upload any materials in your personalised timetable then u should probably bring the study guide

I like to bring as little as possible. I've never brought SG to lectures nor textbooks. Just handouts and foolscap and pen.
And a cup of coffee.
If lecturer reference SG or TB can just note down important details and revise at home after lecture.
