I got the White Pearl CS... :frus:
Pearl white is slightly yellowish, not perfect white, you can take good care of it and the color will stay, don't worry, PPS is just a layer of protection, regular care will do the rest.

Avoid parking under the sun as much as possible. Sunlight causes discoloration of the lacquer or clear topcoat over time, ie white becomes yellowish, red becomes pinkish, etc. :)

A better solution is to not park under hot sun for long duration. Not feasible to always park in sheltered car park cause we all know not possible.

In the worse scenario, use car cover lor.

Alternatively,
Use a PPS with UV protection.
Then seal with a compatible sealant that has UV protection.
Finally, topper with a compatible wax which also have UV protection.

So far, the PPS and Wax I used both have UV protection.
I am going to try the sealant soon.

I park outdoor during daytime.
So far my silver SK* plate looks similar to SL* plate.
The rare occasion I maintain it, it looks better than the SL* plate.

Actually with the amount spent on pps plus wax plus whatever protection, can just use the money for a repaint on the 5th year.

It depends on how "economical" you want.
IIRC, my breakdown :-
PPS < $400
Spray Wax $26 x 2
Wash Concentrate $20 now cheaper one $13
Clay bar $15

I wash car every few months. :s13:
Since I don't go petrol station car wash every week, each time I think is $10 or $12. One year is $520.
I think I have neglected the PPS but so far, after I wash, still look extremely good. I intend to re-spray on the fifth year.

Of course that excludes my other hardware as hobby and for testing. :s13::s13::s13:
a) 18V blower
b) 12V pressure spray x 2
c) 36V pressure spray with foam attachment

I have more or less reach my objectives.

Crap jobs I would guess it's the lowest price range at 800.

To be fair, it's not gonna bring the car back to when it was day 1 anyway even if u pay for a 1.5k paint job.

Recently caught the detailing bug too and bought some hardware to DIY. Still prefer the regular Wax/ Sealant over 9H, ceramic, PPS, etc. Anyone else is a hobbyist detailer for his/her own car?

Eh... I hobbyist detailer.
While I have PPS done, I am not sure if it is still there. :s13:
I am more into the washing process.
I have done simple wax but planning to go into sealant.

I think maybe start a new thread?

don't wash your wash with an overdose of soap/foam (like those in petrol station), overtime, it will slowly turn yellowish, If you wash it yourself, add only 1-2 drop max shampoo.
