Both target different market segment.

Royal target younger cruisers, have great entertainment for kids and young adults.

Princess target the middle aged/retired cruisers. Programs are catered toward older people, and have better onboard service and food compared to Royal.

I am a cruise lover and have been to quite a couple of times for both Princess and RC, locally and overseas. I have just came back from Princess cruise departing from Kaohsiung.

It is right to say that RC is family orientated while Princess is to chill and relax and eat.... Princess doesn't have much facilities as compared to RC, not even an arcade.
But in my view, Princess food is so much better than RC, for both buffet and sit-down dining.
