Yes but for the poor chap that doesn't have suitsupply money? Suitsupply is about 50% more than SzeSze and that buys you a lot of pride I guess? Buying from suitsupply doesnt ensure that you will get a clean sleeve as well since pitch is dependent on individual body types and as far as I know they don't alter from sleevehead...

So that doesnt eliminate any of the problems with fit so long as you dont have a generic body shape.

I would avoid black and go for charcoal.

Olive is pretty good, another option is cream. These earth tones look good. But light/mid greys usually work best with an odd jacket.

Try different material, especially if u don’t mind dry cleaning pants. Wool (worsted), Irish linen. I find linen pants extremely comfortable in singapore.

And when u mention about dry cleaning, are u implying that the 2 fabrics u mention worsted wool and linen should both be drycleaned rather than handwashed? Because ive read somewhere that drycleaning actually deteoriates the fabric faster.

On another note, any tailors to recommend for pants? Currently have meiko and lusso as considerations after scouring hwz.

The fact that you need to go to a SEPARATE alternations tailor to alter screw ups your tailor has made speaks volumes about the amount of pride he takes in his work.

Why go to a tailor for a fitted garment that doesn’t work. Might as well get off the rack. Suitsupply has good alternatives that are trendy looking. Not $500, but at least something that can be worn out.

True. I don't wear my Sze Sze suit.. got so fed up and I went back to my usual tailor for another suit + odd jacket. Ended up spending $2+k extra.

But very happy with the finished products c/w Milanese buttonholes.

While I don’t expect SS to be of the same standard as Dylan/KJ/Lusso (different price point as well), but I will expect any decent tailor to tell the customer he is unable to fit him/her properly, instead of saying it’s normal when it clearly isn’t.

And those with a budget, should just go for a simple fused suit instead of wishing for half or full canvass.

Admission of liability is grounds for rejection of goods/non payment.

Are there any tailors that exist in this price bracket? It will be useful for the person who comes here occasionally for the opinion on tailoring at bkk pricing.

Really sorry to read about all here posts with regards to Mr Ong. Have you guys shown him pictures of your outfits and the comments? I say this because Mr Ong’s price-point is indeed incomparable in the tailoring industry (keeping in mind his level of expertise). I find it really difficult to believe that he would just let such shoddy work pass. I say this based on my experiences with him.

Alternatively, it always pays to be polite and genuine. Again, I’m not saying that the brothers here are not and have not been courteous to him. I have been blessed to have really worked with really nice establishments but I guess it helps when you really respect their craft and know how difficult it is for them to cater to the different people in the industry.

Ask Mr Ong if the suit can be salvaged. Show him pictures of brothers here in pleasing to the eye Sze Sze Commisions and I am pretty sure he will be hard pressed to let substandard commisions leave his place. All the best.

To be fair, my odd linen jacket with him was quite ok given its price point. But the suit.. the sleeve pitch was really off..

When I highlighted to him on the sleeve pitch, he also gave the same reasoning - fabric very light / soft.

I didn't bother to follow up with him already, cuz he seemed reluctant to make changes. So I went back to my usual tailor.

At least things get done nicely.

Yes. Both fabrics need to be dry cleaned. I dry clean after 4-5 wears. i have not handwashed such pants before, and would say ymmv. Almost certainly some will shrink (linen), and wool may get too furry.

I use HST and Lusso. Lusso had a great Harrison’s frontier roll in airforce blue but think the roll is finished. I used Lai En before too, when they had the good prc shifu.

Precisely. But you're right to say they have to execute orders, and hence have no time to make too many changes. The business model is different, as compared to those tailors who charge double or triple the price.

I'm surprised. The DB looks more English as opposed to the softer, rounder Neapolitan look which i thought B&T favors. It wouldn't look out of place being worn by Colin Farrell in Kingsmen - which is not a bad thing, quite the reverse actually!

For suits, it costs above $2k. Dylan is handling the bespoke range. But then again, it depends if you like the kind of style.
