Anyway...saw this in grab website:

"Optional step: If your car is still on loan, please talk to our preferred refinancing partner for help."

So must our car b free fm loan or not? Cos some bros here said don need.

I feel this part is not updated in their website

Better to keep both companies alive and have them fight it out for the benefit of both consumers and drivers.

your theory a bit wrong. both UG allow car register from year 2004 onwards. (but who knows when will change)

example, if your car is year 2004, at 2014 coe expire. at 2014 you renew coe for 5 years. mean car must scrap on 2019.

means still can drive UG mah. it doesnt matter when your coe expire, it matters when your car is first born.

tio bo?

Hi Rxgn, thanks for your reply. I think bo tio lah. What I think UG is trying to say is that you may use car that is not more than 13 years old. This year they say you can use 2004 registered car or newer. Next year it will be 2005 or newer and so on. This clause will help UG maintain the age of UG car on the road to not more than 13 years old.

Examples

1. This year I have a 2004 registered car which I have renewed COE. I can still use it until end of this year. Next year cannot anymore because it will be over 13 years old.

2. This year I have a 2007 registered car. Say COE expiring on 1st Dec 17. I renew a 5 year COE. I can only use it for another 3 years until 1st Dec 2020. After this date it will be more than 13 years old.

It's not like eg. This year I have 2004 registered car which I renew a 10 year COE back in 2014. Informed UG that I will be using this car and use it for UG right up to year 2024.

This is just what I understand. Correct me if I am wrong. Thks.

from what i perceive, it's always 2004 onwards.

lets see come 2018 jan, will they change to 2005 or not
