The biggest mistake is that Fantagio sold their largest share to a tiong company, really asking for trouble.

Korea Entertainment Management Association Releases Statement About Fantagio’s Situation

Korea Entertainment Management Association (hereafter KEMA) released an official statement warning entertainment agencies against inviting reckless major capital investments.

The statement titled “Urging to raise awareness about the heedless inflow of foreign capital in the entertainment industry” was sent to member companies of KEMA by email. The statement directly referred to the ‘Fantagio incident,’ in which Na Byung Jun, the founder and co-CEO of the company, was dismissed from his position by the largest shareholding Chinese company. Fantagio’s staff accordingly announced they will go on a strike if he isn’t reinstated to his position.

KEMA’s statement began by mentioning that an increasing number of companies were suffering from withdrawals of Chinese investments and abuse of power from major shareholders. “On December 28, there was an incident where the Na Byung Jun, the founder of Fantagio which is one of KEMA’s member companies, was dismissed without prior notice and the staff declared a strike,” the statement read. “This cannot be overlooked as just one entertainment company’s problem and it is time that we all acknowledge that this isn’t a new problem that just emerged.”

It went on, “Even now M&A, sales, and acquisitions between Chinese companies and Korean entertainment agencies are steadily being pursued. Reflecting on this incident at Fantagio, KEMA would like to point out to you that inviting reckless major capital investments could potentially result in losing management control.”

KEMA also expressed their regret regarding the dismissal of Na Byung Jun in the statement, praising Fantagio as an excellent company that houses many artists loved by the public worldwide. They stated, “We are very sad about the Fantagio incident that has raised awareness and caused shock to the industry. We sincerely hope that they will reach an amicable solution and there will be no further issues.”

Regarding their statement, sources at KEMA explained they were attempting to raise awareness against unreasonable foreign investments. They added, however, that they had no authority whatsoever to get involved or solve this problem.

Fantagio is home to approximately 30 celebrities, including Seo Kang Joon, Gong Myung, Kang Han Na, Hello Venus, Weki Meki, ASTRO, and Wanna One’s Ong Sung Woo.

“Running Man” PD Explains Why It Will Be Difficult To Invite Jo Se Ho On The Show Now
Running-Man-Jo-Se-Ho.jpg
Jo Se Ho has been a frequent guest on many variety shows including SBS’s “Running Man.” Whenever he would appear, the “Running Man” members would say, “It’s you again?” and “See you next time,” which helped solidify Jo Se Ho’s funny character on variety shows.

After MBC’s “Infinite Challenge” announced last week that Jo Se Ho became their sixth permanent member, it’s been explained that it will now be difficult to see the comedian on “Running Man.” Since Yoo Jae Suk and HaHa are current members of both “Infinite Challenge” and “Running Man,” the shows would look too similar to one another if Jo Se Ho appeared as a guest on “Running Man.”

In an interview with a Korean news outlet, producing director Jung Chul Min said, “We relied on Jo Se Ho like the ninth member. But now that he went to ‘Infinite Challenge,’ it will now be difficult to invite him.”

He continued, “I talked to him recently. We said let’s see each other soon and thanked each other. We like him and are thankful for him. I’m happy that he’s doing well.”

Jung Chul Min added, “I did think about calling him to ‘Running Man,’ but I try not to overlap with ‘Infinite Challenge’ if possible. The same goes for Yang Se Hyung. Even if the programs are different, they’re both outdoor variety shows, so they may seem like duplicates. We’re trying to avoid that.”

'Hyori's Bed & Breakfast' staff reveals why Park Bo Gum was selected as a part-timer
park-bo-gum.jpg
Following the exciting news of actor Park Bo Gum making an appearance as a special part-timer on JTBC's 'Hyori's Bed and Breakfast', the CP of the show, Yoon Hyun Joon, sat down for an exclusive interview with News1.

Onto the reason why two seasonal part-timers were selected for this particular season, Yoon CP explained, "Since filming takes place in the winter, we decided to hire seasonal part-timers. There's a lot more work to get done in the winter, as opposed to the summertime."

Yoon CP also shared the reason why Park Bo Gum was selected for the part-time position. "Many viewers suggested Park Bo Gum for the role, so we made a request. Park Bo Gum is a hallyu star after all, so it wasn't easy to get a hold of him. But luckily, Park Bo Gum mentioned he was a huge fan of Lee Hyori and happily accepted the request. He also said he'll work hard on site."

The second season of 'Hyori's Bed and Breakfast' will also feature Girls' Generation YoonA as a part-timer. Filming began on January 8 and is set to air during the first half of this year.
