Thank you for the inputs.

I like the exterior of A3, interior of 316i and the Mercedes-Benz badge. :o

My wife prefers either the Mercedes/BMW.

As for jags, how's the maintenance or servicing like? I don't know anyone that drives a jag. Mainly Mercedes/BMW. Hence I shortlisted these few after listening to their feedback.

Is it true that Mercedes is better at withstanding Singapore's weather as compared to the rest?

C180 cost more as compared to the rest of the same year.

Consider infiniti Q50?
Comes with C250 engine and 7g tronic but different tcu setup

generally true but if u buy new, and sell within 5 years, it's probably irrelevant. anyway, nowadays cars got so many electronics, i doubt it's like good old days of mercedes where they simply go on and on

My previous yr2011 Merc light wiring cui and caused the lights to take turns to blow.
I had to do rewiring to fix it.
That was around it's 5th to 6th year.

Legacy GT 6th year top radiator the plastic portion cracked and leaked. Cruise control stopped working around 7th year.

Heard some Lexus dashboard even melted into sticky mess.

In general in SG weather many plastic components won't last too long, Jap or anywhere.

Just treat as wear and tear and repair when the time comes

Expect the parts for jag to be slightly higher cos it's not that common compared to Merc and BMW. There's no economy of scale.
But mostly the cars are cheaper, surprising, yes.

My XE bought last year costed 155k, much more stuff compared to say, C200, and at least 50k cheaper.
This amount is already a headstart against the other brand.

If u are somewhat badge ***** like me, a Jag turns more heads than the Merc or BMW.

Merc sounds scary and expensive.

Radiator cracks and leaks are common issues.

Lexus IS has the melting dashboard problem I heard.

if lexus have, then the other conti no need talk liao. not a difficult problem to resolve. just some isopropyl alcohol can do the job. it's actually not melting but dirt

BMW has, amongst other things, sticky passenger door handles.
Isoproply alcohol does not work; talcum powder does.

Does the Jag come originally fitted with run flat tyres?

Reminds me of my friend’s 335. Sticky door panels. Then ABS sensor or pump (can’t rem) broke. Was $4.2k.

The pump on bmw 328/335 is known to have problems and usually fails around 75k to 150k km.

And the worst thing is that it is different from the 320’s (which is much cheaper).

cheaper car will have cheaper parts. tats y its cheaper in the first place. to put things into perspective, higher performance cars test the limits more hence their parts usually wear faster too.

Yeah. Although 320 and 335 looks the same and so some parts would be shared. Even my friend didn’t expect the abs pump to be different.
