Breakdown:

For your profile, ANB 28 Male, non-smoker,

$500k Death/TPD, $250k CI, $100 Multipay CI.
To age 65: $1,618.50/year.

$3000 Disability Income, (35% discount applied) (base on office based job)
With 3% escalating benefit, to age 65: $403.46/year.

Without 3% escalating benefit, to age 65: $350.62/year.

Aviva's Disability Income is only cost effective if you are looking at minimally $3000/month benefit, as currently there is a 35% discount on premium perpetually.

Total: $1,969.12/year or $2022/year.

Re-looking at this - I'm starting to wonder what is the need of the $250k CI, as my $100k Multipay CI also provides me good coverage for both early and late stage?

Depending on how much income u really need to protect, u may or may not need the CI rider.

We are only able to better guage ur actual needs after a session of discuss instead of a few posts exchange over the forum.

I don't have BI for GE.

Hey thanks!

I asked for AIA quote, for $2500 coverage it cost me $1317.50 yearly, and for $3000 coverage it cost me $1551 yearly.

For AIA, it will cover the person if the person is certified by Dr not fit for work, or unable to achieve 2 ADL (exclude toileting).

They will start to pay the claimant if the claimant is unfit for work beyond 2 months, and backdate pay the claimant first 2 months of income.

Anyone knows the terms and conditions of Aviva? Is it similar?

There are some differences.
Aviva doesnt back date.
AIA doesnt escalate payout at 3% p.a.
Aviva doesn't care about ADLs fulfilment.

The backdating for AIA is useful, however, perhaps a 35% discount makes better sense to me.

Let me know if u need the policy wordings from both AIA and Aviva.

by the way, Aviva has a deferment period of either 3 or 6mths. The quote provided is based on 3mth (more expensive).

Basically as long as doctor certifies that due to ur condition(s) u r not able to work, 1st 2 years ur own occupation, subsequently, ANY occupation.

Thinking of buying term insurance for myself too as I do not have mortgage insurance for my 3 properties and have 2 young kids. Which is the best to buy? Meeting a Tokio Marine rep soon.

It actually depends on how you wish to configure your term insurance. E.g. Years of cover, sum assure for Death/TPD/CI/ Early CI.

For most configuration, Aviva and SingLife should be the cheapest currently.
If you are looking to get coverage till 99, can look at Pru.

Perhaps you can share some information of yourself.

Why not go for MINDEF Group Term Life, and then add Living Care to it?

Can someone explain the difference between MHA GTL and SAF GTL?
Also is there a fixed premium till age 65/70 or is the premium computed on a yearly renewal basis?

At the same time, what is the recommended death/TPD/CI coverage recommended for a 34ANB/male/non-smoker with about 500k liability (mortgage-even thou covered under hdb mortgage insurance/20-yrs family survival/no parents obligation)?
