I realize we've a ton of old hardware, like coolers for Slot A, Socket A, Socket 478, 775, K7 and K8, etc.

Such as this old one...

Would anyone be interested in a whole load of old coolers?

Or shall I just offload them to recycling agents?

Send it for recycling then.

I kept some old coolers which I used them previously to do some mods. For example, slap a chunky CPU cooler on a GPU where they use to be cooled on single slot heatsinks. Nowadays, I don't have time and GPU also typically comes with a chunky cooler anyway. :s13:

Yeah man.
Those were the days when these little mods came in handy.

Not much help in the complex and more well-equipped products of these days.

Send it for recycling then.

Nex has one bin for disposal of electronic gadgets(along the link way to multistorey car park). StarHub launched a recycle campaign in 2014. Dead ?

How about a garage sales first? You can donate the proceedings to charity.

Those not sold, yes, then offload to a recycling agent.

I doubt.
LGA 1151, 1155 and 1156 are pretty much compatible with the same coolers :p

Yeah I thought so too, since those coolers would be more in demand due to the versatility as they utilise the same mounting holes. :o

I would love to... but most of the goods are just too old for any reasonable sale value. Plus we don't have time to determine what works or not and to what extent too.

They are at least a decade old, so I'm just ready to give them away.

I'll probably look into specific requests like that from Kiwi... I might find some in the process of decluttering.

StarHub's programme is still on and they've many collection points - none of which are near office though.

Plus, I'm dealing with e-waste that's enough to fill a van.
Heatsinks, notebooks, systems, printers, speakers, etc. All of which are more than a decade old and have no practical value. So I won't attempt to sell them.

I'm still consolidating stuff at the moment; once done, I'll draw up a list to share.

I'll look around some... I've a feeling a couple of them might fit your needs. I'll share when I confirm.

This slot1 heatsink came to my rescue to tame the heat of the 6 rated 1ampere pinch valve. The bundled 50mm cooling fan just fall short of doing a good job, took the 60mm fan from AMD socket 462 heatsink and slap it onto the slot1 heatsink, finally able to run 24 horus non stop operation for this prototype machine.

I kept no lesser than 20 pieces of various slot1/slotA heatsink from computer processor for my prototype building project. Not much resale value but life saver when you need something larger than usual off the shelve heatsink. The final product will run without the cooling fan (noisy), might need to attach 3 pieces of slot1/slotA heatsink to tame the heat.

Wow. Nice project.

Would you like more relics like that? :s13:
