Hey thanks for your input on this matter.
I actually have read through what both schools has to offer and UOW seems more wholesome and offer courses which i think will be more applicable in the future but both schools dont seem to teach programming languages???
And i made this post here hoping to gain more input about this matter =/ IE their experience and opinions of both schools, pros and cons etc
In UOW DSS, you will be learning C/C++, Java, Shell Script, SQl, etc, etc . When you are doing ur FYP, mostly likely you are being forced to pick up other languages which you will not be taught by the school. E.g. HTML, IOS, Android, Apache, etc in order for you to complete your FYP.
In UOL, if you take a close look, UOL do offer programming related modules such as "INTRODUCTION TO JAVA AND OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING", "CREATIVE COMPUTING 1: IMAGE, SOUND, MOTION", "GRAPHICAL OBJECT-ORIENTED AND INTERNET PROGRAMMING IN JAVA", "ADVANCED GRAPHICS AND ANIMATION","DATABASE SYSTEMS".
It is impossible for the school to teach you all the languages. The school may teach you a few languages. Once you master it, picking up another language shouldn't be a problem
Although UOL business students are allowed to choose their own timetable but UOW students are not allowed to do so. Not sure about UOL IT student.
In UOW, there will be 2 modules for each semester (3 months per semester). Hence, students will need to complete 8 modules per year. After deducting the semester break (usually 3 weeks), you left with 9 weeks (per semester).
As far as i know, in UOL, each semester lasted for a year. That means, if the student couldn't make it in the end, he/she have to repeat the entire year which is kind of wasting their money/time.
