Is there a way for us to downgrade back to Nougat if something goes wrong with the Oreo update? Asking because I was one of those who had trouble connecting to Singtel Wifi and Wireless@SGx hotspots even though the authentication was already set to SIM while on the French Oreo, and the only way I could downgrade back at that time was sending the phone in at Plaza Sing
Was connected to Wireless@SGx at library just now with my updated Note 8. No issue at all. Able to send and receive WhatsApp and messenger.

Just updated to Oreo on the XSP CSC. Besides the tutorials that pop up, I notice that some app's icons on the Home Screen have an additional ugly border around it.

The Chrome and Play Store icons for example are now surrounded by a white frame while my WhatsApp icon has a green frame. This is despite having my Icon frames setting set to Icons only.

Oh well..

Improvement to Audio

Awesome LDAC support finally arrived on my Note8 after updating to Oreo today.

Sound quality definitely has improved quite a fair bit when using LDAC to connect to my Sony Hear On 2 NC.

By the way my handset is on the Starhub CSC code, though I'm using M1 SIM cos I bought the phone off-contract on Carousell.

me too. wiped/reset it before the oreo update came up. didnt experience the issue for a few days. then i installed oreo update, then now the issue happens again. definitely not caused by oreo since it happened since before i updated. i don't know if an app is causing it as it only happens when i dont use the phone. tried closing all apps and even ran it on safe mode. still the same.

im planning to bring it to the service center soon but if i could find a fix now, it would be better... :(

By any chance have you accidentally activated the auto restart/reboot schedule?

if it keeps happening on random timing, and not activated by auto reboot schedule, might need a check on the battery or the system.

Sometimes short circuit of the connection and battery issue can cause a sudden shut down/reboot..

the auto reboot is disabled when i checked. okay so i really need to visit the service center for this issue. would you know if SAMSUNG singapore provide a service phone just in case my note 8 needs to be admitted to the hospital?

They do provide a loan unit provided, there is available units for loan. They will try to match a loan unit that is equivalent to your note 8 level of features, but no guarantee one.. Also, they will try to fix it within a day if they can, if cannot then they will tell you also.

Also, do check your peripherals like microSD card or sim card. sometimes these 2 got issues, will also cause a reboot.

I suggest you take out your microSD card first if its inserted, sim card spoil is almost impossible to know unless it has no connection with the network..
