Hi everyone,

Last week, I had engage Sunny Aircon for a chemical and steam cleaning including a outdoor condensor steam cleaning. It cost me $170. To my dismay, within less than a week it started leaking back. However, it wasnt the aircon leaking, but the piping at the side that was leaking. I suspected that their foreign workers did not do a good job and caused the pipe to leak. The leaking was so bad that it woke me in the middle of night for 3 consecutive days. I tried texting them and they did not reply at all. The company is a serious joke. When I first texted them to ask about their service, they were so responsive and pushy to come within the day. However their after sales service sucks. No reply even after reading it. Damn angry. Can anyone kindly recommend me a good local aircon service person. I have been using a stand fan to sleep these few days.

Was the unit chemicals washed without a full dismantle?
Meaning the wash is done with a hanging tray below the wall mount?
For chemical wash without full dismantle, if not flushed thoroughly, sometimes dirt can get stuck at a water tray behind the coil.

The water tray is used to catch the condensate water and divert them into the drain pipe. When dirt/jelly clogs it, water leaking will occur.

Might want to give your ex contractor a few calls again and have someone more senior from the company to come resolve the issue for you as it should be still under their workmanship warranty.

Hi Maxi,

Thanks for the response. The unit was wash hanging on the wall. It wasnt dismantled. They spread a large plastic paper on the floor and just wash the aircon still mounted to the wall.

I tried calling. Didnt pick up. What could i possivly do? It seems they do not want to honour it. I did send a picture of the leakage including the receipt.

The procedure is a chemical wash and chances are dirt and jelly is still caught in the water tray.

I’m sorry to hear that they are not picking up your call.
Let me drop you a pm on the rest.

Can try this local guy Jin/93580608 they dismantle blower/water tray

Dismantle the blower and wash got its pros and cons.
It will be very clean but if not put back properly, it can damage the fan motor in some brands and you will get a high pitch cricket sound each time you turn on the a/c.

There's a problem with my daikon system 2 Aircon. Both units turn on with green lights but there's no air. Could this be a compressor issue?is there anyone special who can repair this? Or the usual aircon servicing company will suffice?

When was the last time you serviced your aircon?
If there are no blinking light at the indoor units then chances are the units is clogged. What you can do to confirm is to switch on both units and shine a torchlight into the unit. Is the round blower turning?

If the blower is turning then high chance the unit is severely clogged and requires cleaning. Otherwise if the blower is not turning then there is a fault with your unit and you will need someone to come diagnose the fault.

For Daikin units in most cases if there is a fault the units will have blinking lights.

I just bought a Daikin system 3 SMILE series from JK Aircon Specialists, hopefully they are as good as the recommendations.

Yup, have to apply synthetic lubricant.

Yes there's blinking light.
I called Mr Yap earlier and he suggested to turn off the main switchboard and reset it. It worked! But only for a while.. after that the aircon will stall after a while.

It was last serviced in Jan this year

If both units are blinking then chances are there is a fault with your condenser. For Daikin the error code can be retrieved from the remote

Basically the fault is reset when you switch off and on the isolator.
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but is a good thing to try.

I would suggest that you contact your aircon contractor (Mr Yap preferably) since you have approached him earlier for advice.

Hi all, need some expertise on my aircon issue. Just today my aircon shuts down by itself automatically when we turn it on and the timer and turbo indicator on the indoor unit flashes red. I tried to turn off the main power supply and turn it back on after a while. The aircon worked for a while then the same thing happened. Any idea what could be the cause?

Thanks

Blinking indicates a fault with your aircon. The unit is shutting itself down to prevent further damage. By turning off and on the main switch is only resetting the fault but does not solve it. An error code is usually tagged to the blinking and depending on the brand of the aircon the codes are different. You mentioned turbo light indicator. Would any chance your unit be Midea or Samsung?

You might want to let us know the brand of your aircon and the number of blinks per set (ex 3 blinks followed by a 2-3 second pause then repeat) and the people here can probably help in the diagnosis.

Alternatively you might want to have your aircon contractor come up for a check as sometimes there can also be other underlying fault apart from the error code diagnosed.

Can try this uncle too. Mr Yap. 9029 1655
They are a very nice married couple doing aircon together.
I think they are friendly and his charges are low.
Can just call and compare. :) Been using them for a long time.
Again they do not have facebook or advertisements but a few guys here do recommend them before.

Hi bro,

Just called him was quoted $200 for 3 units of ‘100% chemical wash’’ but he claims that he does not do any dismantle of the unit because dismantling it down will definitely affect and leak gas. Anyone has any view on this? Basically I was quoted $200 for 3 units of chemical wash on the wall which he claims that he does a better job on this than every other cheap chemical wash provided by other guys.

The correct way of chemical overhaul is to dismantle down the whole unit and clean it parts by parts and also to apply lubricant on the bearings. If the fan motor is rusty then next time general service cannot dismantle the blower le cause can't take out.

As for gas leakage might due to the joint between the copper pipe is not tight enough. Or unit coil evaporator is too rusty on the side

I still strongly recommend to dismantle down follow the correct way of washing..
