Please check your TV from this list first before rushing out to buy a digital set-top box.

I was at Best Denki. There was this salesman who was advising a man (with the Digital TV redemption flyer) that since his tv was produced in 2015, it wouldn't be DTVB-2 ready. He could be right or wrong, but from the IMDA list many TVs produced in 2015 are clearly DTVB2 ready.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
I believe that there is genuine cases of the designated antenna being sold out.
But, it is up to us to decide whether to buy when the salesman try to play punk with us.
As for the TV information, we can google it on our mobile phones.
Unfortunately, if the salesman try to be dishonest to cheat uncle and auntie, there is nothing to stop them.

for cheap tv box, the 'heatsink' really can't make it. it's just a small piece of aluminum sheet glued to the chipset.

i replaced it with a proper heatsink with thermal tape bought from ebay. use for few minutes the heatsink is already hot, can't imagine it with the original aluminum sheet. also drilled some holes on top of the box for ventilation. not the best outlook but as long it works. :s13: have a few extra pieces of the heatsink, if you need pls PM me.

DVB-S2 Vs DVB-T2

Hey guys,

What is the difference between DVB-S2 Vs DVB-T2?

I ordered the "recomended and reviewed" K2 DVB-T2 box from Shopee but the seller sent me a DVB-S2 box.

So, should I file a return or can continue to use? Sorry, DVB noob here.

DVB-S2 is meant for receiving DVB from satellite station. It is not use locally, get it exchange and made sure seller send you DVB-T2 that support v1.3.1 aka T2-Lite.

That's weird, by right the MATV should be able to receive.

Sent from Redmi using GAGT

Nothing weird, HDB no longer maintain MATV ever since SH SCV took over in providing analogue signal via their cable system.

I believe you have to go to the physical stores to utilise the $100 discount.
