Yah la! Nothing is free.
I don't know how much though, should be around $50-$60.
Damn, thats expensive. I tot should be complimentary.

Never encounter paying for tender boat from cruise before.

Are you kidding me? So much just to take the tender boat/ferry? Yikes

The Phuket tender boat/ferry is free leh

I am not very sure coz I never take the ferry, the $50-$60 may be a package including ferry, coach and city tour I suppose? It is better for someone who experienced the Bintan trip to provide the info.

I think kia was on the inaugural/first sailing and we cannot say what the future cruises would be like. They had a ceremony with the Tourism Minister, Governor and President of GD.
My own sense is that it is just not practical to go ashore. Not unless GD bribe the guy who check your passport to the Chief of Police to the Governor.

Hi
I will be going for the 5 nights cruise to redang. Anyone has been on this cruise? How were the excursions? Worth it? What did you do to pass the time on board?

I just like to update casino members that GD has increased the cc from 15 to 40. I can only guess that they are holding members off from booking pending revamp of their system or they are treating members as fools.

I was on the last Wednesday cruise and there were 3600 on board. Most were on the free cruise except for the 1000 odd Indians. Still the casino was not crowded. Now with this present system I don't know who would want to play. Maybe only kia would.

I just came back yesterday.
In deed, they are going to change the system soon. Cruise credits will be voided by 30 Sept, which means, no more earning of Cruise credits from now on and existing cruise credits must redeem by 30 Sept before they expire. Those who still have balance cruise credits like me, redeem your cabin as soon as possible.

From 1 Oct onwards, there are 2 ways to book for cabin. 1 way is to use your Genting points that you clocked from games to redeem for cabin OR wait for DC to SMS you if you have free cabin, alternative, you may call the hotline to ask if you have free cabin.

The new system sounds like they are discouraging people to go onboard..... Genting points are equivalent to money, I can use Genting points to play slot games but with the new system, I need to maintain certain amount of Genting points if I wish to book for my next trip.

Thanks for the update on my update. Wow, increasing the cc like that for booking, freezing the award of new cc and existing the cc by Sept 30 makes it a totally new ball game.
U
I think members would not be happy, many would protest and many would give up their membership. How could it be better for GD. Lesson for how to lose members and drive their casino into the ground. Unless Genting come uup with something else for existing members.
I myself is silver with 16 cc which would now be useless. Worst hit would be new members who have been building up their cc.

I don't know what is your position on this change.

Whats the itinerary? I went for the Redang, Koh samui and Laem chabang cruise last June.

Redang: snorkeling and diving excursion. Free and easy play on the beach at the resort nearby.

Koh samui: big Buddha and other tourists attraction excursion. Free and easy to Chaweng beach & festival mall.

Laem chabang: go bangkok or Pattaya. Free and easy to pattaya shopping mall.

Lots of things to play on the ship. Swimming pool, rope course, wall climbing, mini golf, basketball court, bowling (need to pay), zouk. Plenty of bars and restaurant, casino.

Kids club for the kids (free first 2 hours).

Decent amount of movies on demand and tv channels inside the room.

Be prepared to queue and queue during meal times if you are travelling during the holidays.

Cruise Credit is an additional reward to players. DC abolish the Cruise Credits system and let Genting Points take over the booking system is following the old Star Cruise method.
Genting points are equivalent to money and likely DC wants players to spend the Genting Points to book for cabins instead of converting them to negotiable credits to play.
I am comfortable with the new system, for those regulars who do not maintain Genting points in their account may be affected. However DC also promised that they will SMS free cabin to selective members. No Genting point does not mean you will never get a cabin, just have to wait for their invitation message.

Yes it looks the new system is gear for high rollers like you.

It takes 534 GP to book the same weekend cruise. I don't know if there are others including yourself that have this many GP.

Yes what GD is doing they want to choose the gambler and not have automatic entitlement for gamblers.
I don't think I will wish them good luck on this new system.

How much do they charge for movies ?
Is the snorkelling done at the beach or must take a boat out?
If i have to choose between redang and koi samui, which should I choose? Thanks

The 534GP refer to points that you earned from Genting HIGHLAND Casino in Malaysia, not the Genting points earned from Genting Dream cruise.

Likely 30 Genting points earned from Genting Dream cruise can redeem for a cabin. ;)
If no Genting points, just wait for DC to message for free cabin, if not, call and ask.
The hotline is going be more difficult to call after Sept.

534GP for 1 cabin, I also cannot afford to go wor. I was told it refers to Genting Highland GP. The first time I called DC to book my cabin in March, I recalled that I had 499GP in my Genting Highland card and short of a few points to book a inside stateroom, hence, I paid $$ for my first trip to dream cruise.
They will revise the points for cabin redemption, 534 points for 1 cabin is ridiculous !
