Currently on 4790 ever since I got the Z97 Lucky Draw Edition mobo. Either gonna save up to overhaul to Ryzen 3 + ITX mobo (meaning have to buy DDR4 ) or stick to Haswell for another 3 years and just replace the PSU

ddr4 is dirt cheap now tho, but i see no point in upgrading, u uni got time pa game meh

Actually not using desktop much. So might just get a replacement PSU. 32GB DDR4 3000MHz+ will cost $300+. Moi uni GPA gone case liao, now as long can grad with merit is the target

I touched my boss's X1C6, damn shiok to type and carry...more expensive than desktop set though

lol i also feel like a desktop serve me no purpose now... i only want the monitors :3

I learn liao, next time if I ever want a desktop I will just get xeon/ryzen parts and ecc rams, on the 2nd hand market, the rams are almost the same price as normal rams. Once idw use alr, can decom as a freenas . On top of that the xeon parts are cheap and perform as well as modern parts imo.

XPS keyboard is trash. **** travel, no page up/down keys. Latitude keyboards much better...until I tried the X1 Carbon. School selling base X1C6 i5/8GB RAM at $2.1k, if want 16GB, they fixed it with the i7/16GB SKU at $2.4k


Totally cannot use 8GB sia. Mostly sitting around 13GB most of the time on my 24GB Latitude, maxing out the 8GB on my work Thinkpad E460

Not concerned about those. Personal machines I'm gonna stick to 1607 unpatched and locked down without updates. Use common sense when web browsing more important than patching. Besides, patch one thing will open another hole anyway
