Baby at 3 months keep crying when at home for hours and lying down. Checked diapers and baby is not hungry. When carried upright and walking around the house, seems to stop crying for a while. However will continue after a while. Can be quite tiring for us. Any idea how to sooth the baby to sleep

Maybe is baby colic...nothing that you or the doctor can do. Just let it go away naturally.

My wife expecting so the above info is just what I found to prepare myself.

I heard from some of my friends that some babies do cry alot - esp under 1 year old. It might be due to lack of security or stomach wind...Many reasons and it take time to find out why.

For my LO, that time when she is 4mths old - there is 1 or 2 days that she kept crying. And I think is constipation and some stomach wind. What I do is to put 1 drop of Ru Yi oil (those traditional oil) on my hand and then rub on her stomach. Do not apply the oil direct on her skin and it might be too "hot' for baby.

For constipation - can go youtube and try those baby cycling exercise. It helps them to poo.

I suspect it's due to growth spurt. It should only last afew days to a week. Did it only happen recently?

or probably colic.. can get rid wind for him/her or rub ruyi oil on his/her tummy

my first born was like that since birth.. the elderly say she is spoiled, we carried her too much ... the moment we put her down she cry or wake up easily. there was once i carried her from 8pm - 2am non stop! things start to get better when she turn 5 mths old.

Yeah just colic or uneasiness. If cleared by the paediatrician, do not worry too much over it. Just soothe the baby best you can. The phase will pass by soon enough.

It's quite common for babies to cry, as soon as newborn up to even late as 7 months. During this time, try to observe the child's behavior at different holding positions (make sure all include proper spinal support).

Babies respond to bright colors and soothing sounds. Believe it or not, your heartbeat is actually soothing, assuming you are relaxed at that moment. If you are cradling in your arms, try different sounds with your mouth. They will react to them, and when you find one that keeps them quiet, keep to that.

Most importantly, remember that not all babies will react the same. They have little character traits (yes, even in that stage). So what worked for one doesn't mean it'll work for the next.

For colic and uneasiness, it could be that your child doesn't take to the formula well. Try breastfeeding in the first few months as much as possible, then wean to formula. I had to change brands for my son a few times before I found one that he could keep down.

As they grow, it will be easier. My #1 now 21months. Sometimes really cranky and we dont know wat they wan too. Expecting #2 in few months. ;)

Do check their temp also. Little ones immune system very vulnerable to virus.

You tried swaddle? My LO stopped swaddling since 1.5mths but when he around 2-3mths that time, out of the sudden cry and cry... checked everything, drink milk also already.. but still cry.. swaddle him back then he ok liao.. did that for the next couple of weeks whenever he cry without any reason. Prob can try..

Maybe because of Colic, like the bubble trap inside and making the baby uncomfortable, can be taken in while drinking milk, did u burp your baby everytime after feeding?
