I would add Singapore is one of the most expensive countries to retire to so I'm not why more Singaporean are not considering Malaysia for retirement, cheap housing, medical and cost of living, especially if you plan to FIRE

MM2H requirements hard to meet, next is language barrier, also not everyone know how to drive and transportation is a little troublesome unless stay near train? Worst is crime there is scary.

If sick, not sure can claim if overseas?

Rental income also not fix, some months no rental. Rental income is also half share if the property is co-owned?

Rental income derived by Singaporeans retiring overseas may be taxed at non-resident's rate which is much higher than personal tax rates.

I don't see any requirements that are difficult to meet.

That's not a real problem as long as you don't own property there. Just pack up and
leave on first sign of serious trouble.
It will be when you are caught up between malay thugs who can't differentiate you from Malaysian chinese. More so you look like them and can't speak bahasa.

If you are not resident in Singapore then you can't be taxed in Singapore.

You think if something happen, you have time to react?

If you kiasu and fast hand fast leg, you should have enough time especially if you drive. Tourists and those who depend on public transport and airlines will be after you :s13:

If you think that way, then you should stay put in Sg. You should not go on any tour. Similarly, if something happen in Sg, you think you have time to react?

Think the hardest part is to prove the monthly income for retirees.

If retirees can't prove monthly income of RM10k, then they don't qualify and shouldn't dream of retiring with MM2H. Monthly CPF payout and rental income should be enough. Otherwise, add on dividend and interest income.
