PolyU campus is completely surrounded by police, there is no secret way to escape. The only way is to break police defence line by force.

Rioters inside don't dare to come out. Police outside also don't dare to storm in. Its just a waiting game now of who blinks first.

I am afraid your analysis is wrong. These riots are in fact premeditated and the extradition bill is merely an excuse. The localists groups wanted independence and are willing to use fake news and violence to achieve their purpose. Unfortunately, a lot of Honkies including brainwashed students were misled by them.

CL only became HK's CE in 2017. The localists groups were planning for a rebellion and recruiting violent radicals even before CL became the CE.

https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong...ndence-localist-groups-rise-hong-kong-schools

Interview by AMDK on 18 Jun ( 3 days after CL suspended bill ) shows the duplicity of the protest leaders. They knew that CL suspension of bill was a de facto withdrawal but promoted lies that CL was plotting to revive bill.

Precisely that's why I empathise with those on the ground. They are merely prawns to the likes kf Claudia, Joshua and the others...while the frontliners fight on the ground and risk getting injured or even killed, Claudia, Joshua and the others just sit around and give "inspirational" speech like revolution of our time.. To me, none of the pro-dem leaders has any creditbility.

The sentiments of the separatist became much stronger after the 2014 Umbrella movement...CY Leung probably saw the writing on the wall and decided not to seek reelection for a second term.

Yea she is tied to what she can do. As a state leader, got limitation wat. So cannot really blame her. She can only suggest to Central govt.
But last time the 董建华 suggested alot of good things but HK ppl rejected all of them .is their own ppl rejected it and not china

i think cn also want to build bridges to link hk to macau/zuhai or something like that, so at least hker can buy housing at thos area cheaper, and still can transport themselves with ease back to hk to work etc.... but hkers reject say for cn to infiltrate into hk easy or something like that?

While watching the live stream of the attack on PolyU and how the frontliners desperately and repeatedly threw their homemade molatov at the armoured vehicle and water cannon truck, I cannot help but empathize with them. While I condem their violence, I cannot help but see their reason for doing it. The very fact that pushed them to violence is because they had lost faith in the democratic system and it doesn't help that the government, headed by CL continues to be oblivious to the sentiments on the ground. By pushing materiastic policies such as reform to the housing policies, CL has continued to show a stark disconnection between her govt and the public. Unlike the pro-dem exisiting and ex-members like Nathan, Claudia, Agnes and Joshua who continues to JJWW on social media from the comfort of their homes, the frontliners are the one that is at the forefront and has the most to lose. For those who say they should focus their effort on getting elected into the LegCo and reform from the inside, if y'all have read how the LegCo is disproptionaly advantageous to the Pro-China members, y'all would have an idea of why they had push them to violence. While this is not a support for the violence protestors....I empathise with them and applaud them for their effort and commitment to their cause.

The rioters are just kids who is being unhappy with the society and faces direct challenge from China itself. It's their uncompetitive mentality to trigger this kind of behaviour when the chance was being led by Joshua Wong and the pro Dem.

One of the keypoints is that these young lads are easy to manipulate. When I was young, I see alot of fake news in EDMW and some other sources too and always think that we must vote the current gov out. Attended WP rally and felt that there is a need to vote for the opposition even when they talk nonsensical stuffs. My mindset changed entirely when growing up and having to go different countries for business and stuffs.

In short, young blood, rash mind.

The bridge (Hong Kong Macau Zuhai Bridge) has already been built. However, it has been criticized by a large number of the general public as a white elephant political project with limited use.

Precisely 董建华 made suggestions more than a decade ago to help solve/lessen their housing issue(not crisis) at the time. However, the public refused to allow public housing due to being afraid their own current property prices will pummel. The lobbyist by the property magnates didn't help the situation either, but the people voted for it.

That's why I always say the HK ppl got what they deserved and will be deserving...

Errr... some of the frontliners are part of the localists groups who had been recruiting ONLY violent radicals since 2014. 养兵千日,用在一时. I think most of the frontlines leaders and hardcore belonged to the brainwashed localists groups. And yes... they are pawns... the pro democracy politicians will reap the benefits. Lololol

Yes and it is not helping that CL and her administration refuses to acknowledge the fact that there is a problem and address it head on. While CL has promised 'engagements' to get a better understanding of ground sentiments, all I see till date are a bunch of govt scripted debates that has no effect whatsoever.

Agreed we were all young once :o

But still they chose their actions. You don't beat someone up or throw bricks or molotovs at the police without a clear mind.

There can be no dialogue if it's 5 demands and not 1 less, tbh. Besides, who can represent the rioters for a constructive dialogue. Lololol. Nobody dare to claim to be the leader. Anybody can call for violence. Lololol. This current riot even if put down wouldn't be the end game. It is just the start. A move to fan anger and hatred towards the HK government. The ultimate aim is independence. There will be worse riots as 2047 gets nearer. Lololol
