MyRepublic just launched a new plan.
20GB for $24/mth. First 3 months, will be 50GB/mth.

Smart, Mega, Extra and Ultimate plans will be phased out. Those on old plans can still continue. UNO plans still remains 😋

Just FYI. Received an SMS for my SingTel Combo 2. 4GB will be just nice for me. Too bad I already subscribed to the Data x 3 a few weeks ago for S$5.9 got my main line (24months contract).

+++++++++++
Singtel. We’re adding FREE benefits to your Combo 2 Mobile Plan! You’ll now enjoy additional 2GB local data for the next 24 months on this mobile line. Info: call 1688. T&Cs apply. Please visit singtel.com/Combo_Data_Boost_C2 for full T&Cs.
++++++++++

That being said, I still intend to change the other line (SingTel Combo 2, used by my wife) to a SIM only plan when the contract expires late December.

2GB is really nothing nowadays, you can finish it within 4-5 days easily.

Some app doing very small minuscule task require a lot of data.

I used FavePay before just to pay chicken rice of $3.50 - open, scan, pay, close: 20MB!

I agree that 2GB is too little but I have survived wuth it since 2013. I added a Circles.Life Flexi 1GB as the backup earlier this year. Still occasionally I will exceeded and need to pay S$10. In the end I added Data x 3 to get 6GB early this month.

The reason to keep the main line under Combo 2 plan (S$42.9 plus S$5 Caller ID =S$47.9 per month) is to have the SingTel Circle benefits, especially the yearly free phone upgrade -- the discount is not bad if you need to buy more expensive phones for your family member.

Agree, the new plans only comes with 100sms and 100mins of local outgoing calls. The previous plans comes with 1000sms and 1000mins. My UNO plan even came with that bundle.

But at 20GB for $24/mth. It can now match what Grid, Gomo and other mvno's are doing. Feel that MR is lagging behind the MVNO race.

why not break the habit of NOT buying phones yearly...?? why must buy phone...?? why not buy new phone only when you need...?? :s11::s11:

also telcos sell phones at RRP most of the time... your phone discount is not that attractive when you compare with the prices you can get if u buy from 3rd party...

Yeah man xiaofan already said he is using the Singtel circle benefits to change phone yearly not just for himself but for his family as well.

Thanks. Yes it is mainly to please my home boss (iPhone user), also for myself and parent-in-law (mid range Huawei or Oppo).

i never say u cannot... but why yearly...?? why not 6 month...?? or sometimes 8 month... or sometimes 9 month... or sometimes 14 month...?? or 24 months etc...?

the point is you don't have to upgrade exactly after every 12 month...! if got new and latest phone that u like came out 9 month after you sign contract... then how to buy...?? or you lose your phone after 9 month and need phone... den how to buy...??

if you don't have contract... you can buy phone any time u wan...!

wacky
