Feel like signing new line with ST or GOMO. Most of their numbers start with '9'. Any tips to pick a new and fresh '9' number?

I might seem paranoid but I once picked up a number that was used by a suspected debtor and I was bombarded here and there. So now I pick number, I am very careful cause changing is a hassle

GOMO's free movie ticket promo with sign-up is back again. Wonder if people actually do sign up for the free ticket.

Maybe gold glass? Lol
Other than that not worth, as need to go down to redeem, not sure still got good seats left or not.

I rather book online and reserve better seats.

ok just initiated porting from Singtel to Giga!

Giga! app non working on rooted devices and having some stupid glitches was not the best intro to the company but looking forward to save some money

Hi folks, is the $5 Gigaroam for 1GB bought in APP? So buy and store in APP and roaming will be automatic once overseas (APN set to giga)?

TIA!

Correct.

https://giga.com.sg/FAQs_Details.aspx?FaqCategoryName=Roaming/+IDD&FaqCategoryId=2

Do I need to activate roaming before travelling?
gigaRoam pass is automatically activated when you arrive in your travel destination. gigaRoam will be valid for the next 5 days for gigaRoam APAC, and next 15 days for gigaRoam Rest of the World (ROTW). You can purchase your gigaRoam pass anytime up to 3 months before travelling.

I think most of the new numbers start with 8.

9 could be recycled numbers.

Moi M1 expiring in Feb 2020. Have only ever rotated between M1 and Starhub. Never been under Singtel.

Aiming for cheapest deal. Have many queries, quite confused now.

Deciding between the following. Appreciate any help or info given. Thank you!

TPG($0)/Circles($5)/RedOne($8)/Giga($10)?

TPG($0)
Wanted to go TPG but I checked and my Iphone 6 Plus is not supported device. Meaning I cannot make calls? Then incoming calls still receive?

So if I go for TPG, if I need to make calls, then must use VOIP app eg Whatsapp/Skype etc. And no incoming calls except via VOIP eg Whatsapp/Skype.

If I sign up now, its just 6 months. What happens after 6 months?

Circles($5)
Free Caller ID, from what I can see? No free incoming calls.

Any upcoming roadshows? So that $18 registration fee can be avoided. Any Sim card fee or delivery fee?

RedOne($8)
Registration fee ($30), Sim card fee ($10) waived currently until further notice?

Cannot find, but should be no free incoming, no free Caller ID.

Giga($10)
Caller ID service, SIM card fee, registration fee and re-contract administration fee are all free. Just got $2 SIM delivery fee nia.

Is it true that for both Gomo (ST) and Giga (SH) can only receive SMS when abroad, that's all ? And there is no way to make calls, receive calls or send SMS ? No add-on to do that ?

So once overseas, the card cannot be used except for receive SMS ?

My M1 sim-only contract is going to expire this month. Thinking of going for Vivifi Lite or redONE at ~$8.

Any feedback on vivifi or redONE? Reception? Can receive sms (for OTP) while overseas?

Both got free caller ID right?

Cheers.

This question has been asked to death.
Receiving SMS does not require roaming.

Giga data roaming:
https://giga.com.sg/FAQs_Details.aspx?FaqCategoryName=Plans&FaqCategoryId=2

Giga also has IDD add-on. Go check out their FAQ.

If you are overseas, there will be no incoming or outgoing calls, no outgoing sms, have incoming SMS (not sure if limited to OTP only). There is no option to add on to enable this feature. Can see their FAQ.

If you need to have pay as you roam feature, there are other operators that provides that. ST, M1, SH, grid, circles life, vivifi, zero 1, my republic (use app). Not sure about zero and red one. Just do your own diligence.

Thanks very much. I've already checked. But I still carry the old mindset. Cannot understand how they can provide a plan that I cannot call or send SMS when overseas.

So I just want to confirm.

Thanks again.

Because people like us who actually read the terms and conditions and know the caveats are very happy with such plans that suit us.

If it isn't for you, you're free to port out.

Checking plans for other people. By right, Gomo/Giga is ok for them but occasionally, the person travels (very, very occasional). And people from office or old parents (who does not use smartphone) will call using the landline. So this is the consideration. I think, just because of this, cannot these 2 plans, a bit wasted.

Can buy SIM card overseas as an option. But I can only help to explain to them. They will decide.

As for me, I don't have this issue. Currently on Circles Life $7/-.

think for this group of folks just get them those with pay as you roam better. less hassle for you and them also.
