My port-in of M1 number to Giga failed. M1 say no record of rejection from their end. Both registered under same name and NRIC. No more contract. M1 is under corporate plan but M1 say this won't cause rejection. No outstanding payment.

What could be wrong ?

Does the order of your name the same in both telcos?

Same.

Any possibility one is all upper case one is title case that sort of issue?

This kind of technical issue, better off asking M1/Giga support better right? :s22:

Cannot understand how they can provide a plan that I cannot call or send SMS when overseas.

why not? I for one definately dun need this, 90% of the time the overseas roaming charges are incurred becos of spam call or stupid iphone sms verfication..

any tom/dick/harry also use whatsapp or wechat now...

Feel like signing new line with ST or GOMO. Most of their numbers start with '9'. Any tips to pick a new and fresh '9' number?

I might seem paranoid but I once picked up a number that was used by a suspected debtor and I was bombarded here and there. So now I pick number, I am very careful cause changing is a hassle

Depends on luck la. Kua Heng Sway one Lol. Most important is the number will strike 4D! :s12:

I called M1 but they say not rejected by them. I could not get respond from Giga. So I was hoping to see if anyone has similar issues and how it was resolved.

Latest is that the port-in came through. My M1 side is terminated. But my Giga still has issue. Could receive and make calls and receive SMS. However could not send SMS and data does not work. Have checked that APN settings is giga. And the Giga app still shows Giga number and not M1 ported number.

Checking plans for other people. By right, Gomo/Giga is ok for them but occasionally, the person travels (very, very occasional). And people from office or old parents (who does not use smartphone) will call using the landline. So this is the consideration. I think, just because of this, cannot these 2 plans, a bit wasted.

Can buy SIM card overseas as an option. But I can only help to explain to them. They will decide.

As for me, I don't have this issue. Currently on Circles Life $7/-.

Roaming service is important becos need to receive OTP for free etc. from bank which almost all telcos support. Only different is how many roaming countries supported too. GOMO and Giga both only support incoming SMS while roaming and roaming countries supported are limited.

Actually roaming outgoing SMS and incoming calls are not important since most people do not send SMS nowadays and most people will not answer calls while roaming especially they can tell who is calling.

However, roaming incoming SMS and outgoing calls are important. incoming SMS is becos need to receive OTP from banks. Outgoing calls is for urgency purpose while in overseas especially in the event that is no Internet access.

Yeah I am also on Circles life $7 plan. Latest bill is $7 nett including GST. This is something surprising.

Initially when switch from Singtel and Starhub to Circles life, I am worrying if Circles life has full support of the auto roaming (SMS and voice) becos to receive SMS for OTP or receiving calls or making calls (urgent) is important to me. Glad that Circles life has fully support it and the countries supported for auto roaming is full list supported by M1 which it has no different comparing to the three MNPs inlike Giga or Gomo only has partial support even counties supported only 40++.

Hope you can resolve it. Understand that Giga is those type with minimal support. I intend to migrate to giga when my contract ends.

How many days liao? Must keep pushing and complaining. Say some story like its having an impact on your work as you need to work offsite or something, are they going to waive the charges for each day that its not working etc.

Else they will just ding-dong and don't escalate to the proper person.

Sounds like a simple settings issue that can be troubleshooted and solved in 5mins. But if the problem is not escalated to someone who really knows the system, then the problem will forever be in a ding-dong loop.

Can't do anything today. Giga don't work on Sun. I waited to connect to live chat agent from 9am till 10.45am. Then realise they only operate Mon to Sat. I sent an email. Will try to live chat tomorrow.

After port-in successful, Giga app should show M1 port in number or still show Giga old number ?

It's strange they like port half way for me. If it is not done at all I can at least terminate Giga and look for another one. For now, I am very fearful that they will drop my M1 number. My account already terminated at M1. I have so many bank accounts.....

Have you just tried restarting the phone. Sometimes, it takes a restart.

this is telco side one...
mine just ported over on Thurs..

1) requested porting over giga app at 12.01am
2) my singtel line inactive at 10pm
3) my singtel number unreachable from 10pm to 1am..
4) my outgoing call from giga showing as my singtel number..yeah..something is working...
5) keep trying..one by one..sms, then incoming also work..at around 3am..

so it takes time...just relax and wait...I was lucky that it's over weekday..
