I would say do a -2.00 both side. But if you want clearer vision. Buy 2 goggles one side -2.00 one side -3.00 and ask the Sales staff to swap the lenses for you.

*edit* my mistake. As eyezone suggested -1.50 and -3.00 would be more optimal for you! But you need to purchase two pairs of goggles.

sorry anyone know how do optical swimming googles work?

-2 -4......

1.8 and 1.9 is for glass. Progressives likely 1.74 though I might rmb that tokai got 1.76 but not sure if it’s for progressives or SV.

Depends if you want plastic or glass lens and what is the size of the frame you are going for too.
i open to plastic or glass...
but i used to have glass for my deg...recently tried transition plastics lens.

go to 1 optical shop to try check my eye and the shop said unable to increase my deg..i was like huh?! i then go another shop..and the shop beginning already said no they dont do eye check except for new specs......i har?? no check how to get new specs...
told shop i going make new spec and of cos u have to check my eye again ...shop then action to check my spec....and said they don do "glass" lens and only plastic.....i was like WAT! ...never mind ..final kill is they said they only do deg not more than -12.
ok lousy shop ....

Hi all,

what is the highest index can progressive lens go?
1.74? 1.80?

for -14.00 deg

Hi bro,

You can go for 1.76 Tokai progressive lenses with lenti cut. 1.76 index is the highest index of plastic, Lenti cut is a special type of processing to shave off excess thickness of the lens. Final product will appear to be similar to 1.80 glass (could be even thinner if the proper frame is chosen)

-14.00Ds plastic lenses are pretty common. Not sure why the optical shops cant do it. Glass progressive lenses are harder to find though. We regularly do glasses for high myopes up to -18.00Ds

That’s really unfortunate...
My advice to you is to pay more attention to the frame you choose. Make sure it’s not too big unless necessary e.g. broad face. Or you can even consider 3D printed frames which is very optimal for high power individuals whereby a nice shape/template can be chosen and then the size can be altered down to have a nice thickness.
But as you mentioned I am puzzled why such shops don’t want to take a case/deal like this. Really too bad..

Hi! I would say it’s surely better than Pentax and probably slightly better than stellify.
Thanks! I believe though that this is the mid tier of Tokai (not Lutina). How would it be better? Is the Tokai more durable in terms of the coating?

-3.00 honestly for both eyes is more than enough to see underwater. Your astig on the left eye is higher but it can be compensated. Similarly to your right. Do not need to fully compensate both power and requiring you to buy 2 extra pair in this case.

Cant say much about other brands but so far Mvision has been able to produce Zeiss standard lenses at a much more affordable price point.

We've been using their lenses for a long time & so far our progressive lens fit success rate is almost 100%.
Oic. I would also need the progressive sunglass too since I am driving. Can all this fits under 1k?

Correct me if I am wrong. Lutina is the blue light filter design for tokai and if you are looking towards coating even stellify is fine just that it’s slightly poorer(maybe?) to tokai. If you want blue light filter stellify only comes in blue reflect rather than blue absorb(tokai lutina).

Depends! There are progressives that together with tinted lenses can cost less than 1000!
Even if photochromic also can!
Just have to choose which tier of lenses you prefer😃
If I need to include a progressive sunglass too? Still possible to hit 1k or slightly over?

Haha probably an arm to some... the cost is about 500 for a pair. But it’s really comfortable, durable and light.
Feedback are positive for now(fingers crossed)

Hi EyezoneOpticalSG

What will be the price range for this tokai lens (glass or plastic type) of -14.00?
The tokai lens able to choose the special thin type edge cut?

Hi bro,
Tokai 1.76 plastic progressive with Lenti cut will cost from $750 to $1,100 (Depending on which progressive design you're going for, Basic/Mid range/Premium)

Oh, I was given the impression that Lutina is the higher end lens with blue light protection. I was quoted for a lower end Tokai lens, also with blue light protection (I think it is BCC or something like that) but definitely not Lutina.

Hi bro,

If your degree is not too high, 1k is enough to fit 2 pair of mid range progressives + normal frames (1 clear + 1 tinted).

Hmm I am quoted 650 for a 1.67 index with transition and 220 for the lens and with a frame for a clip on. Reasonable?
