Bro and sis please kindly share your experience. For a K30 with a CN rom used outside China, say Singapore:

(1) Does the NFC works with public transport, MacDonald, etc?

(2) Can we self install GMS without rooting? If yes, naturally does it means we can then install Google Playstore, Google Maps, etc?

(3) Is there any problem with mobile banking apps, SingPass app, etc?

No NFC on India set. Not sure if it will be the same when it comes to SG. Guess I'll stick to China set for now.

Mine is China rom using it in Sg.

(2) is easy. Go to "GetApps" -> search bar -> type "google play" -> install "Google Play Store" just like you install app from Play Store. Google map, gps etc works & you can install app from Play store as normal.

Not so sure about (1) & (3) as I don't use it. NFC feature is there (never use it). I read it elsewhere Google Pay work with some fix (need root) if it doesn't work on default.

Does it have google mobile services gms? Heard even even play store installed, apps like grab, banking might not work well as they need gms.

I asked china xiaomi staffs last month, they able to help me install play store. But no assurance apps might work

Btw is the frame of the phone metal or plastic? The review of POCO X2 by Mr Phone says that it's Plastic. Just curious to know if there are any more differences other than the POCO X2 not having NFC. The POCO X2 also comes with unlocked bootloader? (check 7:35 in the video below) :eek:

the getapps will also install google framework. everything will work except google pay

If purely compare 120ghz screen, I felt it as not as smooth as Razer Phone series.

Coming from a user on both Razer and ROG. Felt like a poor man 120ghz panel. Just saying.

I am using Xiaomi Max 3 now. At the GetApps, I couldn't find anything like GMS, Google Mobile Services, etc. Can see Google PlayStore, Calendar etc but at the descriptions of these apps it's mentioned that GMS is needed. So then where and how to install GMS?

it will auto install if you look at the installation msg . just install the playstore it will be done auto for u. no brainer thingy.

Google Pay don't work. I mentioned previously failed safety net.

To get Google Pay working on Redmi K30 4G/5G, you need
1) unlocked bootloader
2) root with Magisk (flash patched boot.img)
3) install GPay fix magisk module

If you use Singtel Dash (contactless payment including transport/transit) all NFC payment works without any modding.

Yes but once the bootloader is unlocked, there would be problems of some mobile banking apps, SingPass Mobile, etc. right?

That's why you need to do the steps KalToark posted.

Why not consider other phones based from your questionable on this phone and doesn't feels confidence from you. :)
