That's right. Xiaomi did warn you phone become unsafe once you unlocked your phone. And you cannot lock it back agian.

you can lock it again, but it must be on the correct regional miui version, for example china set with china rom, no software modification. if u flashed global (poco) rom on china set k30 and try to lock, then it will hard brick.

You need google play store and google mobile services (gms) for it to work. Not sure how to flash or install it. You might want to flash global from over.

But it is best you buy the SG local version.

eg.
mi 5x -> mi a1
mi 6x -> mi a2
redmi 6 pro -> mi a2 lite
cc9e -> mi a3
cc9 -> mi 9 lite
cc9 pro -> mi note 10
redmi k20/pro -> mi 9t/pro
