Hi all. I'm planning to buy Linksys velop Triband to set up mesh. But I realised the each node has only 2 ethernet port. I need at least 4 ethernet port (for TV, Nas and home theatre). Any solutions? Can we use Ethernet switch? Can please recommend a ethernet switch that works with velop? And provide a link to buy ethernet switch. Thank you.

Just get any gigabit switch to expand. Brands such as tplink or dlink are normally cheaper.

Mine is mounted on the wall with a bracket designed for it, near the ceiling.

they only got the wall mount types of mount. Seems like I need to change my plans and see what is the best way.

Looks like 1 of them will be in the cabinet since I don't want to mount it at the side of the cabinet as it is a custom build cabinet.

The other will need to be wall mount.

Anyone having constant issues with the Linksys Velop? Signed up with M1 two weeks ago together with top up for the Linksys Velop mesh routers. Since then, on a daily basis, the nodes will turn red at least twice a day and I have to restart both the ONT modem and Linksys router. Anyone have any advice on resolving this issue? Thanks a lot!

Hi
Need some advise here.
Am using Linksys Velop dualband with 3 nodes.

I noticed when i am connected to wifi in PRimary Node 1, speeds is good at 200+ Mbps

However when i connect to Node 2 and Node 3, speeds dropped to 50+ Mbps even when i am close just beside the node.

Is this expected ? I had thought for MEsh wifi, speeds should not drop even when connection to other nodes ?

I had also tried the linksys channel finder to auto optimise the channel settings.

my connection :
ONT --> Modem --> Asus RT87U Router --> Node 1 ( via LAN )
Node 2 --> Node 1 ( wireless )
Node 3 --> Node 2 ( wireless )

Anyone can help on my query ?
Also do you guys have separate SSID for 2.4 vs 5 GHz band WiFi as I noticed connecting to the 2.5 GHz is much slower ?

I have 1 SSID. Yes sometime it logs on to 2.4 ghz. So finally I hard wired. I actually bought this thinking that 1 SSID will help seemless transfer in wifi mode while moving from room to room but it sucks...

Anyone can help on my query ?

Hi Guys
I need help with my velop
Did a factory reset and reconnected my primary node no issues internet works fine
However I cannot add any new nodes (my other two child nodes)
Reason is i cannot factory reset them to purple light and they remained solid bright red light, thus the setup cannot continue
Googled and read up many sorts of methods cannot work

Reason why I itchy backside go and factory reset my existing network is the nodes keeps disconnecting and always have to restart
So I thought let’s try do the factory reset method

Now i am living on just the primary node, luckily at least got internet to use

Any Broz have experienced this and got solution please

"remained solid bright red light" means that the Velop Mesh System has lost connection to the internet.

reset node per Linksys instructions (i.e. hold down reset button for 10 seconds until the red light disapears)

Count one thousand, two thousand.......until ten thousand.

What happens after you click add node?

"couldnt locate the additional nodes"

mine is a tri-pack so the same error is happening for the other two additional nodes

I know they had been factory reset because on the wifi SSID you can find them at default to connect "setupxxxx"

according to linksys instructions, I am supposed to be getting purple light after factory reset but I have bright red light only now, I have done the reset many times the same result

Yes done them according to linksys instructions, many many times and hold down much longer time, the end result is still the same, could not get back the purple light now for both two nodes.

just thinking is it my product is really spoiled or there is some special steps I needed to do.

Try this method

5) unplug node 1 (main node) and switch off (it's not necessary to reset this node)

6) plug in the second node and set it up as if it were the first

7) again, do not add any additional nodes at this point

8) upgrade the firmware on node 2 when prompted

9) wait for the update process to complete and for node 2 to sucessfully reboot (solid blue light)

10) reset node 2 per Linksys instructions (i.e. hold down reset button for 10 seconds until the red light disapears)

11) plug node 1 back in and power up

12) once node 1 is ready (solid blue light) power up node 2

13) make sure your phone is connected to the node 1 wifi

14) open the linksys app and login

15) Use the 'add a node' option in the main menu and add node 2 to your network

16) Follow the in-app instructions and you should be good to go.

Thanks I will try, one clarification:
"6) plug in the second node and set it up as if it were the first"
Do you mean plug in power only (do not connect the lan cable which is on primary node 1)?

Yes finally, it worked!
I can now add and connect my two child nodes.
Only thing to take note is, blinking purple light never appear.
It is actually blinking red light (I am sure I am not color blind) and in the app I select that it is purple and go ahead to add the node.
It worked for me in this method.

Thanks again!
