Hi guys,

Well, to start this off, I've been using a Razer Mako for a long time.

This was Razer's first attempt at producing a proper 2.1 PC sound solution and it was legendary for it's time for using downward firing satellites. I liked it so much, I actually bought 2 sets. I think they were like 600-700 bucks at that time.

Unfortunately, both sets are now broken. I previously got one of them repaired at SLS but it died after a year more. Then this last set has been in use constantly since 2011! But now both are just utterly dead.

Now it's time to replace the set with something. I've shortlisted some options:

Possibly give Razer another chance with the Nommo Pro?

Oh okay. Thats an idea. That can connect to a subwoofer? Good ideas on a sub that goes with that?

The KEF egg set seems to be out of stock in Singapore?

Kali Audio LP-6 - $500

Then get a wharfedale or mission subwoofer 8 inch or 10 inch with the remaining money

$1000 is also just enough for a Elac Debut Reference + a cheap amp

Ahh I forgot to mention, I don't have much space around the sides of my monitor (which is one of those Ultra wide 34" ones.

Barely 15cm of width before it hits my PC case The Kali LP-6 is huge. That's one of the things I liked about the Razer Mako, they were tiny, could fit below the monitor and were pretty damn loud.

I'd also rather keep it to active speakers as an AMP would take up more desk space I gotta say.

Actually looking at the space below the monitor... a Creative KatanaX can fit underneath just nice... coming from a "what fits in that desk" perspective.

No......soundbars......ever

I was thinking of a soundbar for my television and i went to listen to some (Focal Dimension). Heck, even my old Focal Bird 2.1 sounded better than it. Didn't bother with it in the end and continued using my Focal Birds.

Sound bars are just terrible
