Chill la guys. End of the day is see whether the female tenants r ok with it anot lo. If they ok then end or story. If not, then just move on lo!!

If not okay, TS must ask them "why not okay, he is not pervert and want prevent you from running away w/o paying rent. So why not okay? Please take it."

If landlord not staying there, what are the views on having CCTV at the home?

Areas will be at dinning room & living room, where tenants are not allowed to use.

The concern is check the home condition especially landlord not staying there.

Any thoughts or views for this?

Yes u may install cctv to view ur dining room. Check out my thread this morning also asking about installation of cctv in living room. I have called hdb earlier and they say is not illegal as long as ur cctv do not invade their room/toilet privacy or recording the outdoor corridor.

What was your current tenant's response when you mention there will be a CCTV in the house?
How about the other tenant viewing you house previously?

Too be honest, I did not do it as I was concern that tenant's, regardless male or female, did not like it. However, I am still toying with that idea.

So many ppl install Ring doorbell with camera/video function which records outside corridor walkway. So, these are illegal? Or they only specifically state CCTV for this and not video capable doorbells?

Of cuz the culprit tenant buay song and even took photo of my cctv haha! The other female tenant bo chup though. With hdb clarification, im not afraid what this tenant would do with those photos he took of my cctv camera, and i just told him to move out by end of the month.

Actually whats the story?

The male tenant don't want you to install cctv? Before he rent from you, you did not inform him that you are installing cctv?

The culprit is the couple tenant. And no i did not inform him im installing cctv, but i placed the cctv in a very obvious location (infront of my tv). Nothing wrong putting cctv, i can just say to prevent tenant from bring unauthorized guests home. What can they do? Im the owner and i got the final say.

Why stop tenants from using dining and living areas when the owner is not even staying there? Just because theoretically, you are renting a room.

If your tenants see the kitchen piping leaks, he/ she should close her eyes and walk away because that is a forbidden areas???:s22::s22::s22:

Besides the place to be neat & tidy, I do come back as & when to use the space, so I do not want to see any stuff other then my own.
Unless I am renting out the whole flat, I will not allow tenant to do as they please.
To prevent any futures issues or what not, it best to be clear cut.

Honestly, i wouldn't event consider this type of unit if i'm still single (im married lady). Staying with a single male landlord with CCTV..my parents will be more worried than you. LOL
