Can i open multiple fixed deposit with the same bank. E.g 50k, 30k, 20k instead of 100k. So in the event of emergency, i can choose to withdraw 1 account and the other 2 is still running. TIA

If you are talking about Maybank, then it is better to put in multiple of $25k, as the minimum to enjoy the rate is 25k...

Maybank has 2 types of FD for 3 years at 2.05%. The one with upfront interest has min 25k. The one without upfront interest is min 1k.

Please take note, the Islamic FD needs to open at the bank. You also will need to open a saving account to credit in the upfront interest which you can cash out and maintain the minimum, for me is $500 for iSAVvy account. I just did mine yesterday.

Did you mean that you cash out the upfront profit that is paid after 1 working day and just leave $500 as the minimum balance in Isavvy account to avoid fall below fee? Btw it's 2.05% x 3 right for 3 years profit? Thanks

Yes Maybank promotion still on. For the Islamic FD, yes, you can cash out the interest and just leave $500 in the saving account to waive the admin fee.

Its a shariah compliant term deposit. Nothing to do with race. Sooner or later the interest has to be paid out anyway. They entice you by giving you before maturity.

1 year endowment? Cheap funds for GE :s13:
GE giving out any vouchers to boost our return anot?

GE issued 2 yr at 1.8% in June which I bought quickly on the day CIMB announced cut in rates.

This 1 year product is more for preventing outflow because they have the 3 year GE205 which mature in Sep. They probably have others maturing this year. It is obvious because I receive email that they allow you to place this from proceeds of policies maturing upto 31 Dec.

Extract of email :
If you have policies maturing soon#, you may use your maturity proceeds to directly fund the premium of your GREAT SP Series 2 policy through an online application.

We will need the details of the maturing policies you wish to reinvest. You can get the details from your policy documents or through eConnect.

#To be eligible, your policies should be maturing after 14 calendar days of the submission and before or on 31 December 2020.
