Take note it's a ONE TIME placement ALLOWED only even if you deposit less than the cap amount $49,999 for this HSBC 1.4% interest rate.

what do you mean? not today give them $49,999 then 2 years later they return back plus 1.4% interest?

Eg- If you deposit 30K today and want to place an additional 2nd placement deposit of 19,999k tomorrow , it won't be allowed. One time placement allowed only

Actually, it has been many years since Govt is offering a interest not as good as banks. Initial launch, yes but now, it’s better to put FD than SSB if the amount is Lower than 75K

yes, any banks FD rate are better than SSB now.

oh i get you now. you mean other banks allow different placement? like $30k split into 3 placement of $10k each?

Basically, if you are interested in this current HSBC fix deposit of 1.4% up to the cap of 49,999 , then do it at one go. They don't allow multiple or subsequent placement later after your 1st or initial placement .
