Battle of lenningard and stalingard is way worse and even more bloody.
Everytime I watch that scene, I ask why US don't want to use a big bullet proof large shield when they step out of that boat? First 3 ppl hold the shield for the group.
And why they don't want land at night when visibility is poor...
All nice war movies
HBO Band of brothers (WW2 european theater)
HBO The Pacific (WW2 pacific theater)
HBO Generation Kill (Gulf war)

Still waiting for Steven Speilberg Masters of the Air, based on 8th Air Force. My favorite bomber B17 will be in it

They did naval bombardment prior to the beach landing, but they did not plan adequately..![]()

D-day omaha beach from germans' POV.
Band of Brothers also another excellent series.
Like BoB more, but not movie, hard to compare fairly.
but they also said it was the most realistic portrayal of what actually happens in war they have ever seen.
it was so realistic many left the cinema during these scenes because it reminded them of what actually happened to them.
Netflix got WWII in colour ma..Also got talk about d-day..
I also like BoB, watched it more than 10 times![]()
