they have tried their best to educate him. Sometime things just don't go the way we want it.

Both parents working, no one look after the kid full time

Actually if Amos's words were anything to go by:
1) He claimed his father belted him
2) His grandmother and mother protected him

From facts, both his parents are working full-time.
We can easily deduce that his grandmother over-doted that monster to the point she raised a spoilt brat without her knowing.

Refuse to admit and recognized that their son is mentally unsound and seek help when he is young

Mentally unsound needs medication but looks like he was never properly diagnosed.

His upbringing isn’t exactly the best, but it’s not the worst either. Just very common in today’s society to have double working parents, or to be subjected to caning or belting when the child makes mistakes. Even schools utilise public caning during assembly time.

You don’t see us all turning out like Amos, do you? That boy definitely has a wire loose in his own nature.

Not saying he wouldn’t turn out better with more special attention, but there’s nothing really overtly wrong with the parenting he was given.

Wasn’t he a smart clever kid when he’s younger? Can talk and reason very well as a child.

Yup. I recall that his mother was the one who spoilt him. The father did try to discipline Amos but when u have a bitch wife who constantly goes against his teaching.....
