Dell Monitor Warranty

My dell monitor suddenly have green lines appearing. I have check my receipt and found that it has five years warranty and still have few months before it expired. Happily I called Dell Support and provide the Service tag found behind the monitor. I was told that service tag wasn't valid. I mentioned to the agent that I buy from Lazada, he told me there is a lot of cases where people buy from 3rd party and having warranty issue. He told me to email him the receipt and he will check for me.

I have received an email later informed that the warranty department reject my claim and advise me to claim from the reseller directly. The seller is Cybermind. I didn't buy directly from dell as it is cheaper in lazada and I was able to use credit card voucher. Have anyone encounter similar issue as me?

sometimes, the dealer set has warranty coverage that start from the time they received the product from factory, not when they sell it to you. since you are on the last few months of the 5 years since purchase, it is possible the warranty coverage for your service tag already ran out in Dell's database

Dell SG? Send service email to Dell Global asking for warranty or at the very least find out the the agent the service tag is registered to so that can send in for service.

Even if cannot provide service locally, at least you will know the stock from where.

Call back cybermind since they sell the goods. If they say 5 years then 5 years. Local dell won't handle it, then get cybermind to ship it overseas for RMA if they got it overseas.

But high chance cybermind gonna tell you, can't help you with that, you need to do it yrself.

I'm getting "There is no match for that Service Tag or product ID. Please try again, auto-detect or choose from all products"

My model is U2417H, I remember that the agent told me that he finally found something but it was tied to some other model. :s31:

May be a fudged service tag? My Dell monitor bought from Swiftware on Shopee, the service tag I can check on Dell website and it gives me the warranty period with the correct model number.

i also purchased from them.

i called dell to fix my warranty date (base on the purchased date)

I already provided them with scanned receipt, screenshot of lazada order but they refused to honor the warranty. :(

maybe old stock. they can fix based on purchase date but i think maybe you waited too long to change

I mean that the warranty on your monitor was not legit..

Dell has a pretty robust support system. Having bought a couple of laptops from them in the recent times, their service tag is really detailed, can even see every part and software tagged to individual tags.

So my guess is whatever happened, whether (old) Cybermind cheated you or their supplier cheated them, or simply warranty ended, your service tag was not valid in Dell's system.

Did you provide a SS of the serial number on the monitor? They might be able to check based on that.

The 5 years printed on receipt is it by shop and did you check the warranty status online when you bought?
Cos another scenario might be monitor is 3 years warranty only.

I brought U series of dell monitor, during that period all warranty are 5 yrs. The lazada order screen stated 5 yrs local warranty. I didn't check from dell website and assume I just need to keep the recipt. Lesson learnt. :(

U2417 ? My previous U series doesn't has problem claiming 1 for 1 exchange warranty. But my U2715 still working after 5years so I don't need to

But now I heard their U series only have 3yrs now . So ur 2017 model should be not able to
