25% (out of a population of 5.69m) of Singaporeans are under the lower income category, i.e. earning 28k or less per annum. Are these people mainly students and retirees?

Singapore Population estimate: 5,896,686

Citizens about: 3,523,000

Say 20% are non-working kids ... that works out to 2.8M folks (include old folks)

1.4M = half our citizens are lower income :eek:

1.4 million eligible. 760k of them are above 60 years old. So about 25% of sinkies in prime years are so called lower income

This group of 1.4 to 1.5 million lower/No income citizens will always be there for many years.
That's why the govt must import one million hardworking foreigners to make the overall manpower stats look good 🙄

The median somemore is their median value in their tabulated table. It is not showing the numbers of sinkies fall in this median value. It give a wrong impression sinkies is coping well or barely with the rising expenses. In reality if we were to count each one of these ppls and evaluate them, it will definitely fare worse than the impression they gave it to us.
