Generally I categorize briyani in 2 categories. Restaurant and normal hawker/coffeeshop/Indian Muslim eater.oh this chap, there was a previous thread on him when a youtube video was done on him
for the price if it can hit 7/10 should be no horse run, i also look forward to try.
the typical 'local briyani' is totally cmi, rice hardly flavoured, generally tasteless on its own... just colouring. can only down the rice with the strong meat gravy
think this is one of the first to declare bangladeshi style bri here. little india area all the small streets still got a lot of small shops doing dum to try that are normally patronised by FW. CECA prefer flashier aircon restorans there.... but shag sia the cholesterol to go try every single one
i used to stay in AMK last time and there was this indian muslim stall that sell prata + bryiani.. super long queue especially on weekends.https://mothership.sg/2021/06/briyani-47-hougang/
My friend went there yesterday, had to wait 1.4 hours to get his order. Long queue it seems.
Shop only opens around 3 hours for lunch.
I've been to this coffeeshop numerous times before. All the Indian Muslim stalls died a hasty death. But this one seems that it's gonna last a very long time.
Haven't tried yet and be the first time I've ever tried Bangla food
Where? I used to stay AMk too before.i used to stay in AMK last time and there was this indian muslim stall that sell prata + bryiani.. super long queue especially on weekends.
Typo should be 1.5 - he waited around 60 minutes plus, so could be 1.4 in reality...
ave 2 blk 252.. now demolished. just a stone throw away from Nam Hong Aquarium... dont say, the rojak there also dam tokong..Where? I used to stay AMk too before.
But can't recall which one had a super long queue. Currently the most popular is at Blk 107 (used to be Blk 25+ before he shifted to 107.
This a rare instance where the biggest stall in a coffeeshop goes not to the sze char but the Indian Muslim. There's like 2 stall in 1. Same coffeshop where Roy Ngerng's father sold carrot cake..
Really ah? You tried this 47 Briyani before? Is it really better than Arab Street ones including Islamic? That aside, their briyani really v nice. Better than the ones at Arab Street.
Yes that's the 1. His rojak is nice but briyani so so only. Not dum briyani for sure..ave 2 blk 252.. now demolished. just a stone throw away from Nam Hong Aquarium... dont say, the rojak there also dam tokong..

1 of my old friends told me that briyani actually came from Afghanistan/Pakistan area (Bangladesh was also East Pakistan before independence). He mentioned 1 place I think Blue Diamond, the owner learnt to cook from an Afghan/Pakistan fella when he was in Dubai and then started his own restaurant here. Was very good. I can't remember now, long time ago I ate there.
