Hi singletons,

i am considering moving out and live on my own. But would also like to know from those who have done that, what are your monthly expenditure? Best is if can provide a breakdown of each expenses per month.

while I don’t drive, I do consider driving when the finances allow. But for now, let’s omit the cost of owning a car.

so would prefer if those who have or are currently single and living alone to share with me their monthly breakdown of expenses

breakdown of expenses per month:
Rent/mortgage:
Water:
Electricity:
Wifi:
Maintenance/conservancy charge:

Food:
Transport:
Clothes:
Entertainment:
Insurance:

Others(pls specify type of expense):

Also do state what industry and monthly income:
Industry:
Monthly take home:

why do you need someone to breakdown for you?
cant you figure it out yourself, at least most of them?
everyone has different living conditions.

Hey thanks for the feedback. Have never lived on my own before, so best to have the experience of those that have done that.

Hey thanks for the feedback. Have never lived on my own before, so best to have the experience of those that have done that.
First and foremost, you can take a look at the rental rates at where you want to live in. Say you want to rent a room in a HDB in Tiong Bahru and/or Tanjong Pagar, buffer $800-$1200 for rental. If you are ok with living in CCK, can buffer $700 for a common room in a HDB.

Once you have decided where you want to live, you can calculate your public transport cost from your rental place to your office.

You want to switch on air-con every night or not, that will affect your utilities bill. For TC fees, there's a guideline online that you can take reference from.

Food wise, you can give yourself a budget. You want to spend $3.50 a meal or $20 on a meal? It's entirely up to you. Once you have decided on this, you can include this in your expenditure.

What the others have commented are true. Everyone's lifestyle is different. Everyone has different insurance amounts to pay for.

DECIDE on your own living expenditure. NO NEED to take reference from others.

How much do you want? Do you want three meals in a hawker centre, food court or restaurant?
Up to you to decide your own budget.
