What do y’all expect him to say? Yes we will eventually have a two party system? If no, who’s gonna be the check and balance? Well we check ourselves.

nobody dispute virtue of voluntary self-regulation. however it is important to have a strong counterweight too. there is no guarantee that the system is forever manned by honest men. we dont want to end up like our neighbour up north. start with parliamentary representation, no one party should command more than 2/3 of seats
It seems like we're already ahead of Malaysia.
that’s why separation of power is important
Like I said, it seems like we're already ahead of Malaysia.
True accountability is enshrined in Media freedom (Democracy's 4th pillar). :s12:
The fourth estate has become the fifth column.
He should go and ownself **** ownself.
Nobody else wants to.
i think if OYK is an american in a different universe, he would run for office as a republican.
sounds like what a typical trump-loving republicunt scum would say.
I think you don't think, NPC.

There are so many self pwned statement in the report:

"People can say 'ownself check ownself', but I see it always as a virtue — if ownself cannot check ownself, you're in big trouble,": I believe that when Pritnam coined this phrase, it was pointing about accountability, not whether PAP is self checking themselves.

Singapore, said Ong, has a "neutral, non-politicised" civil service: If that is the case, then why most civil service top management are filled by PAP members?

Top civil servants are appointed by the independent Public Service Commission: Who runs the PSC? This is a no brainer answer.

"And of course, the presence of opposition in parliament that constantly will also raise other point of views that you need to debate, and you need to take it seriously," added Ong: Parliament broadcast is controlled events, carefully crafted to show only a certain point of view. Even the speaker of parliament is from PAP, which says much as well.

You don't think, period. Soy boys don't get to call other people "snowflake", especially when it originated from Republicans lambasting Demonrats. Not only can you not argue, you can't even "not argue" with any originality. I called you an NPC, and you obediently stepped into the herd.

I'm actually surprised you're still here. What happened? Can't find your "safe place", soy boy? I lived in the US for years. You?
