How come Star Trek not as popular as Star Wars?

Star Trek is a utopia. Star Wars is a dystopia. It’s not very utopian by today’s standards. Probably that’s why it’s losing its appeal.

Aiya ST started as a TV drama, SW started as movies. TV drama can maintain their popularity until now very good already. Cos the drama most of the viewers are US. SW got more international viewers as it was movies.

Mando is more star wars than star wars.

I think some of those TNG episodes are very good in terms of storyline, just that the early 90s props and effects look lame by modern standards.

If they re-did the series with modern technology, I think it can compete with Mando.

StarWars plotline is kiddies compared to TNG, DS9, VYG, even the much maligned ENT series.
