Cause star war got Hokkien version, more appealing to Asian market.

Star Trek is for nerds and geniuses like sheldon cooper and friends.

Star wars is for geeks who are usually into software programming.

I don't fall into either category. Hence the reason I never liked those shows.

One is action and excitement packed. Another is always people talking and talking like Taiwanese drama. Of course one is popular and the other is not.

i like startrek more than starwars.

in fact i watched almost every startrek tv series that was ever made. my fav is still tng.

sad to say i dont have any fav among starwars eps.
My favourite is Deep Space Nine, especially the episode "Duets".

I quite like DSO . I hope they won't remove it from netflix, I heard Paramount is setting up its own streaming service soon......

Star Wars is space opera. Lots of action and drama. Actually is not much sci fi, cos it's pretty much just magic in space. Whereas TNG is heavy on sci fi concepts like interacting with alien civilisations, time travel, and AI. Less mass popular appeal.
Star Wars is very political. Original trilogy was about Vietnam War. Prequel trilogy was about Iraq War. Even in the cartoons, they spent many episodes talking about parliaments and voting on bills.

I think some of those TNG episodes are very good in terms of storyline, just that the early 90s props and effects look lame by modern standards.

If they re-did the series with modern technology, I think it can compete with Mando.

You must be kidding me when you say Star Trek is not as popular. :)

You are comparing Apple and Orange when you compare Star Wars and Star Trek.

Movies aside which are mostly the actions for both franchises, the most important lessons from Star Trek series are the philosophies behind the sci-fi theme. Different species across the universe are in fact different races on Earth. The greatest lessons one can acquire from the series are moral and ethics which are heavily demonstrated from one episode to another. The exploration of value in one’s life and more.

I take Star Trek especially TNG and Voyager and Deep Space Nine any day over Star Wars.

TNG Episodes like “The Inner Light”, “The Measure of Man”, “The Drumhead” are such fabulous episodes.

That is just me
:)
