In 2021, I tested a few cash management solutions (Cash+ vs Cash Smart vs Stashaway). Now only left the Cash+ portfolio ($10,000). Current returns is $228 (2.28%).

In 2022, I will test out the new Endowus Income Portfolios. There are 3 products (Stable, Higher and Future) to choose from. I will invest $10,000 to each of them. Will keep the investment for at least a year unless there is an urgent need for the money. I have also chose to have the payout transferred to my bank so they will not be re-invested.

Projected Payout (Monthly)

Stable: 4% ~5% p.a.
Higher: 5% ~ 6% p.a.
Future: 3% ~ 4% p.a.

Estimated Capital Appreciation

Stable: -0.5% ~ 2.0% p.a.
Higher: -1.5% ~ 3.0% p.a.
Future: 1% ~ 6% p.a.

Portfolio value (Jan)
Stable: $9788 (-1.82%)
Higher: $9717 (-2.55%)
Future: $9710.16 (-2.72%)

Portfolio value (Feb)
Stable: $9557 (-3.76%)
Higher: $9461(-4.72%)
Future: $9508 (-4.51%)

Portfolio value (Mar)
Stable: $9353 (-5.81%)
Higher: $9284 (-6.41%)
Future: $9181.60 (-7.78%)

Portfolio value (Apr)
Stable: $9,166 (-5.67%)
Higher: $9,179 (-5.11%)
Future: $9,243 (-5.19%)

Portfolio value (May)
Stable: $9,002 (-8.59%)
Higher: $8,935 (-8.90%)
Future: $9,054.55 (-8.43%)

Total payout collected thus far
Stable: $138.41
Higher: $173.40
Future: $102.13

Happy New Year, everyone!

All 3 products fully funded with $10,000 each. I have already updated the current portfolio value in the first post. Will do so from time to time.

Actually for me personally when it is a new investment feature I want to test water with small amount. As low as $100 if possible or at most $1000. Exception would be FD, bank acct since it is capital guaranteed. Then test water a few months see how. Of course if it works out well you kick yourself why that time don't put more, if it doesn't work out well you say heng ah lose at most $100 only

Not sure how other investors approach new investment feature they are not familiar with the first time.

Not possible for these 3 portfolios as the minimum sum is 10k each.

Of course why not? Say there is ETF, stock, Unit Trust three different investment instruments how do you know which one is suitable for your risk? So you need to test water correct? I test water with Unit Trust and stock many years ago and decide Unit Trust is more suitable for me. During those times no $100 to test for Unit Trust it is at least 1000! As for stock same so I invest in penny stock (lower capital) get burned and transition out from penny stock into Reit stock.

Latest is trying on ETF also testing water using FSM ETF RSP for trial.

Past performance does not indicate future result. Even if want to test, far better to test over longer periods of time (which the portfolio should already provide past years' performance), rather than to base investment decisions on 1-2 years of results.

Esp for active funds where the basket is constantly changing (and perhaps even the fund manager changes through the years...)

Noted. And really appreciate you for sharing to everyone as this test require you to pump in 30K in total. Hope to see good results coming out soon.

No problem. Since there is a monthly payout, I looking forward to see what is the payout like. Will update here again. 🙂

For Unit Trust I typically look for funds with > 10 years history. As to test over a longer period of time will depend on individual. 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year etc ? For me I quite impatient I use a 1 month to gauge but I know some investment instruments need longer than that to show it's promise so I am still adjusting the trial period.

I believe so as it is normal to be in the red. While the funds will try its best to preserve capital, its main goal is still to generate income for the investors via regular payout.

Hard to advise. Investment is long term. Cannot based on the performance of one month.
