So i got a call from blood bank asking me to go down and donate blood. Mine is O+ btw.
She told me the bank is running low.

I haven't been going for donations for a few years. Since they had a mishandling issue (few years back) and then some hoo-haa over blood sold to high class patients coming from overseas, i wasn't too pleased with them.

edmwers, can let me know if i should go down and do my part, or just ignore them?

Did you sign an agreement or contract that your blood is only to be donated and not sold to high class patients?

Just donate. When you suddenly need it, you should be in priority queue.

Blood bank take free blood use in hospital and charge patient gao gao?

Pretty sure its charged to those tourists seeking medical treatment here. I don't think those private clinics or hospitals got their own blood bank.
That's the part i don't like. We donate for free and they used our blood make all those profits, end up fatten whose pockets?

We may be donating our blood for free but ofc there needs to be a cost to the recipients. If not, who will pay for the cost of operating the blood donation centres, the labs checking your blood and the cost of transfusing the donated blood? Govt, ie. taxpayers who already is subsidising part of the costs of medical treatment?

In my personal opinion, you should donate if you can la. Can help save other ppl eh.
