Hi All,
I'm currently using 11700k with MSI Z590i and 2 x 1TB Adata SX8200 Pro as Raid currently.
My WD SN850 is coming and I will be install it om my M2_1 Slot to utilize PCIe 4.0 and if I were to add another Gen 3 2TB as storage drive at M2_2 Slot, both SSD will run at PCIe 4 & 3 separately right?
Or will the 1st slot downgrade to run as PCIe 3 as well?

Extract from MSI website:

      • Supports up to PCIe 3.0 x4 & SATA 6Gb/s for 10th Gen Intel® CPU (From Z590 chipset)
      • Supports 2280 storage devices
    • M2_2 slot (from Z590 chipset)

The two slots are not sharing PCIe lanes (as M2_1 will be using CPU lanes) so PCIe 4.0 and 3.0 respectively.

If there is any down-throttling, the manual will have stated so.

Thank you for the reply, I’ll take a read at the manual again.

Not in a hurry to buy, monitor the price 1st.
Maybe a dual fan ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti V2 MINI OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 $749 (75% price of $999 3070Ti) or single fan 3050
