Can the one EV transfer it battery power to another EV? I always wonder that cos in those apocalyptic movies, fuel can be siphoned from abandoned cars. But if the world transits to mostly EVs , then how?
Have, some even got 3-pin plug can charge laptop and other appliances

there are makers like NIO in china who wants to make EV batteries standard sized and swappable and i think this is under rated genius cos with option of owning the EV but leasing the batteries for a monthly fee, the batteries are not tied to a fixed tech/condition! being objective and politics aside there is much merit in this idea IMHO...

Imagine got full self drive, everyday just lepark sit there and commute to and fro home and workplace. That is priceless.
One charge can self auto drive to KL? Then charge up at 0.5 price to return?

$120per full tank, vs $24 per full charge.
assuming both full tank/charge is same mileage, thats $96 savings.

dont seem like good roi comparing petrol vehicle vs tesla.
Got other hidden cost which first gen ev owner not aware of yet. Eg battery replacement will cost few 10s of k. You ever use a phone where the battery is still good after 10 years?

Charge full how long? Isn't pump oil much faster? To own a Tesla, it costs 170K minimum. No money-saving, and no time-saving. Still have to find a charger point which is rare in HDB car parks.

Wah the idle feel shiok. Charge them gao gao for hogging the charging station as I'm sure many of them will do.

So in the end its like those public laundromat where you just sit and wait for your car to finish charging then move out of lot.

Currently, it favors more for those who are staying landed. In general, those who wants to own one will justify the benefits. Those who doesn’t want to own one will find excuses not to own one .

The time wasted on waiting for your turn to charge, waiting for it to fully charge. And many won’t wait until the car is almost drained then go charge. In short, not many can afford to wait for his/her turn to charge and complete the full charge.

A lot of car owners here don’t drive a lot. You can ask around. A lot don’t even hit 20,000 KM per year. If they don’t drive a lot, they don’t spend much on petrol and of coz no need to charge much. So, one should not just based on comparison between Petrol vs Charging price .

But the fixed cost (insurance & road tax) is so much higher for EVs.

How many chargers can they install at hdb carpark? If more people buying EVs, more quarrels and videos uploaded online.

Wear and tear - our climate here is different from USA/Europe.
- the continental cars can last longer , less problems over there compared to here. The hot weather is one of the main reasons.
- start stop too often. Most traffic lights in the world. Not good for the car.
- I am not sure whether the battery will degrade faster or not. We cannot solely based on the data from USA/Europe.

Currently, if u meet with an accident, the repair time should be long.

Lastly, if one wants to experience driving an EV and can afford to do so, go for it.

Yeah Many people here don’t drive a lot. I pump once every 2 weeks only. Car At 60k after 3.5 years.

I think ev actually makes the most sense for commercial vehicles esp those business that has premise to instal own charger. But don’t see too many commercial ev available. And also the electricity for business is currently much higher
