Joining the Legion 5 club, I've just bought a used Legion 5 Pro with 23 months of warranty left, paid 2k for it, specs is good enough for me to have my gaming fix while overseas (AMD R7 5800H, 16GB RAM, RTX 3070 140W TGP, 1TB M.2 SSD - will add a 2nd larger SSD, 2TB at least).
Other thing I recommend changing is the RAM. You should check if this comes with 2Rx8, 1Rx8 or 1Rx16. Based on my own testing, switching from 1Rx16 (SK Hynix ram that came with my Legion 5) to 2Rx8 ram significantly improves the minimal FPS. Taking Guardians of the Galaxy as a single test, I saw 40+ minimal FPS jump to late 60s minimal FPS. So I think it is a meaningful upgrare.

I have an older Lenovo Thinkpad E585 where the screen is dying. The four corners has already turned totally black with no image. I am planning to buy a replacement screen. Wondering if there is any website in Spore that I can search for it. Google and mostly overseas sellers. Mine is 15th FHD screen.

Just log in to Lenovo Support, key in your laptop's serial number, and look for Parts. You will see all compatible parts that the laptop will recognise.

Get the Part ID of the panel you want (You may need to Google to confirm specs), and then buy the panel from AliExpress and install it yourself. Plenty of videos for installation, so it's not hard to do. You'll probably want a FHD screen, so take note of the resolutions.

Just remember to go into the BIOS to power off the laptop, then disconnect the battery first, before you do anything to the panel.

I'd installed MSI AB to check my temps, after a few rounds of UT3 (my go to game for checking stability and temps), I was pretty appalled at what I'd seen. CPU and GPU temps looked way too high for my liking, 102C and around 90C respectively. Sent diagnostic report to Lenovo and a tech came over, this was what I saw when the base was opened:

Previous owner prolly didn't bother about cleaning, really nasty choked up fan intakes. Perhaps fans also defective, I dunno, but the tech decided to change the entire cooling housing/assembly, below is pic after the change:

All I can say is, Lenovo after sale service impressed the heck outta me, really good service for sure! Temps for CPU and GPU went down to mid 80s and high 70s respectively, now I feel better about the temps.

I already installed a 2TB WD drive myself, and have already filled up >1TB of it with games. Gonna install Battle.net so I can install Vanguard, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, and Warzone. My 2TB drive should still have about 400-500GB left after these games, will leave it alone for other new games.

That is a lot of dust that’s built up. I’ve used my Legion 5 for a couple of months, but I don’t see this such drastic dust buildup.

You can go through the T&C of the warranty for china edition and local Sinkie edition

iirc got certain differences and restrictions

If you are IT savvy and know what you are doing with Windows OS whenever got issues, then you can go for the china edition
