Almost time of the year where I need to maintain 200k to renew priority. Main use is the 24 priority pass at airports since I fly frequently. I am thinking of transferring IWDA from IBKR to SCB. When I did so previously, it went smoothly. But I was hoping to coincide with the SCB promo that comes occasionally to deposit 100k or something like that to get a few free hundred bucks as incentive. :)

I think getting $500 for existing client is possible. I thought the priority version of the visa infinite won’t get 24 visits

For the $500 incentive, do you know if we need to register for it? Currently, I am having the version with 24 visits.

I transferred a few times and always SC got issue one.
Have you successfully transferred IUHC from IBKR to SCB before?

The etf is listed in Swiss exchange and the etf is held by a Swiss custodian is totally different.
I think some ppl also have trouble transferring certain stocks/ETF to DBS/SCB, or to CDP. The transferor and transferee brokers have to agree on a common clearing method or something like that. Otherwise, they can't transfer. While it looks simple from our end, it may not be that simple behind the scene.

Maybe this experience erodes your confidence in SCB. Barring the issue with transfer, if you can transfer a stock/ETF into SCB or purchase it in SCB, I don't think any stock/ETF custodied in SCB will go missing etc. After all, SCB is regulated and has safety perimeters built-in.

Typically it is default. If you buy sgd shares in sgd, it will deduct from your sgd account. If you buy US$ shares, it will deduct US$

SCB is only good for parking local stocks to maintain priority banking status to get the 24 airport lounge visits. Just don't use them for foreign stocks or those that always have corporate actions.
any reason why not good for foreign stocks?
apart from commission wise ?
am asking because family member feels safer putting a large amount in scb, but need to buy stocks in us, europe , japan and hk. all in all 30+ counters but lump sum buy, mainly long term buy and hold passive investing. will you lose out alot on fx fees and commission fees? compared to IBKR ?

also if want to buy megatech us companies like apple, that pay dividends, isit better to buy europe listed apple(uk) instead of nyse listed?

Yeah lousy fx, higher commissions and a unreliable trading/online platform for trading in general. But long term buy and hold/passive investment storage is fine.

U buy Europe listed apple (not sure if got) will not impact the dividend wht will still be full 30%. Because what matters is the domicility of the stock not where it is listed
