Flying to Penang - Request for Advice

Planning a trip to Penang later this year. Will be taking plane. Any COVID-19 procedures to observe?

Googling shows that we need to download the MySej app and update personal and travel info. Did everything as required during my recent JB trip but the custom officers did not ask anything about it. Now I am confused about what to do? Appreciate if someone can advise.

Why are you confused? You are now covered in case you are requested to show MySejhatera. Just because you were not checked at the CIQ does not speak for the other places.

Entered Penang via air yesterday. Never checked MySejahtera upon arrival. Only check vaccination cert at Changi. That said, soft copy will do. Seems like now it’s very lax now

I took 2 trips to Penang via SQ in end June 2022 and last weekend (8 July 2022). Process as follows:

First Trip in End June 2022:
Check-in agent insisted to check the apps to make sure the fully vaxx digital record is in the apps together with the overseas trip notification captured in the apps. No checks at the PEN airport immigration officer.

Second Trip on 8 July 2022:
Check-in agent didn't check anything nor the immigration officer at PEN airport.

Thought of going Penang for 3N2N but passport not available yet. Does anyone has any contact/recommendation for chartered driver? E.g. Small car that fits 4 adults + driver around Penang island for 8 hours e.g. Penang Hill, Snake Temple?

The one I found on Klook is for 4 to 7pax minivan. So I'm trying to find if there is a smaller car - lower cost.

There is alot esp in gurney drive and georgetown

Need to do research and plan those places you go to. Check the Google map for directions and reviews

For hotel, first decide where to stay then look for hotel. City area is Georgetown
