sadly no, i've been trying to contact them since the start of this year LOL
some other folks in this thread seem to be able to contact them last year

my mesh also spoil!! when did you buy your chair
I tried dropping an email to info@unwantedimports.com which is where they contacted me in the past to confirm payment but no reply either. I really have a feeling they are not in business any more. I bought my chair in 2019 and it was fine until one thread on the backrest's mesh snapped this year and every 1-2 weeks, another thread would snap. When did you get yours?

i got mine in 2018!
the mesh is getting worse...multiple areas are giving way
wouldn't recommend the aeron!! plus the HM service is bad. despite this model being <12yo, they refuse to honor the warranty, saying never buy from authorised dealer. and they wanna charge >$600 to replace the mesh. ridiculous

Wrote in to Xtra to replace the Mesh for both the seat and back of my Aeron bought in 2015. Paid the $80 shipping fee to deliver the parts from US. Took about a month or so. Once the parts arrived, Xtra arranged for delivery and onsite replacement foc.

Guess that's the benefits buying from AD.

normal man. home use. think the mesh got problem for the remastered version
i have been using my remastered for more than a year, everyday , no issue at all man.

There are 2 types of remastered aerons i notice. One that is made in the Herman Miller China factory and another one is from US. But i believe both will still use the same materials.

Anyway i have aeron classics and remastered, both mesh on both versions held up for me. I guess just unlucky.

But might also be due to one's individual weight? Just assuming. I will like to think that if one is overweight or like more than >80 kg, will be more stressful for the mesh. I am pretty light so maybe that is why.

thats a bold claim really. i am heavier than you and constant daily usage for more than a year and no issues. In fact alot of people using remastered as well from 2018 also till this day is fine. You can ask the audiosg guy to help. But he will charge some fees since not under his purchase.

Confirm is not the weight issue

this kind of tear is probably due to the material wearing out from environmental factors.

maybe the material of the tshirt/top he is wearing? For example if its a jersey with names pasted on the jersey. Then when user sit and lie backwards, keep moving left and right, and that number on the jersey starts catching onto the mesh and stretching left right when his body changes position.

For me i always wear smooth plain uniqlo tshirt or those dri fit SAF admin tee that has no fabric sticking out.

That looks pretty bad! Here is how mine looks like. I think once one part of the mesh snaps, more and more will follow as there is more stress on the remaining threads.

FWIW, I also have another much older Aeron classic chair and that has no issues at all. The mesh on that one looks thicker and maybe stronger too.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I called Xtra today and was told that they now charge a $400 service fee on top of any parts for chairs not purchased from them, which means the whole repair could cost over $1k! Something about discouraging people buying from parallel importers (there are many on Lazada apparently). They are still checking to see if I can just purchase the replacement part to do the repair myself.

And I agree, if I do buy another HM chair, I'll go down this route too.

Just buy the mesh separately from ebay or Amazon.

Replace yourself. It's super easy. Alot youtube guides available

Remastered parts harder to find. Classic part easier to find since it was in the market for a long time.

I also worried abt my chair since I bought from unwanted just before the lockdown

I posted last year in Nov/Dec on this thread about my June/July 2020 Unwanted Imports HM Aeron mesh failure and my experience contacting them to get the replacement part. Just go and dig for my posts back then.

The link to contact them is

https://www.unwantedimports.com/general-warranty-support/
which can also be found on the Contact Us page on their website.

Unfortunately, I had to pay for the part as per their specified cost + shipping via air (faster) and they did not reply to my email several months later on whether the warranty claim was successful or not. Not sure if they are still very responsive now since they are based in the UK.

The fact that your chair was bought in Sep 2020 is also making me wonder if there was some issue with HM manufacturing....

Your unwantedimports chair is made in china or us? 🤔

Not implying anything, just curious where they source their chairs.
